Manchester United target Inter goalkeeper Onana, asking for 60 million euros; De Gea's departure is undecided
Manchester United have been told that to sign Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana, the club will need to prepare a transfer fee of 60 million euros, or about £52 million.
The Reds are currently looking for a goalkeeper of choice and David De Gea could leave. The Spanish goalkeeper's contract is less than seven days away, but the two sides have yet to agree on a renewal.
Manchester United are willing to keep De Gea, but he must accept a significant salary cut. Duck daddy is currently paid a hefty £375,000 a week.
With De Gea's future at Old Trafford uncertain, the Reds have already started making plans for his departure. Onana's contract runs until June 2027 and he has been a transfer target for Ten Hag.
Recent reports suggest that United have discussed a potential transfer with the goalkeeper's agent, Albert Bothings.
According to 90 Minutes, Inter Milan has made it clear that in order to obtain Onana, it needs to prepare a transfer fee of 60 million euros, which is about 52 million pounds. Chelsea are also interested in the Inter goalkeeper, but interest has waned as the asking price is too high.
Onana previously played under Ten Hag while at Ajax, winning multiple trophies with the current Manchester United manager, including three Eredivisie titles.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper kept 19 clean sheets in 41 official matches in his first season with Inter, helping the team win the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup.
United have also been linked with Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa and Brentford goalkeeper David Raya and keep a close eye on Empoli goalkeeper Guglimo Vicario, who is set to join Tottenham.
