"In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State at the working meeting of the Abai region, the 'Kazakhstan Kharkin' fund will allocate 7 million tenge to the families of the victims, and each minor child will receive a pension of 2 million tenge. In addition, more than 40 universities are preparing to provide grants and dormitories for fire-affected college students. University and graduate students who attend school at their own expense may be eligible for funding.

The Prime Minister spoke of the need to ensure normative materials and technical equipment for environmental and forestry institutions, with a focus on the implementation of early fire detection, video surveillance and monitoring systems.

Fire extinguishing in the Abai area continues. A total of 1,530 people, 320 vehicles and 14 helicopters participated.

So far, 14 people have been killed.
