However, in the spring of 2020, two junior college students in Jiange County, He Xin and Luo Dong, bravely rescued Liang X and Wang X who accidentally fell into the water, and unfortunately drowned and died. Recently, the Sichuan Provincial Government rated Comrades He Xin and Luo Donglai as martyrs.
On March 16, 2020, the sky was gloomy, and the vast number of cadres and masses in Jiange County were immersed in a mournful atmosphere, and everyone spontaneously came to the Jiange County Funeral Home to send two young people who had never met before, but they respected them incomparably, He Xin and Luo Donglai.
On the evening of March 12, when Luo Donglai, He Xin and three other classmates were walking along the embankment of the Qingjiang River in Jiange County, they suddenly heard an urgent cry for help, He Xin was the first to rush to the bottom of the embankment, five classmates pulled a ladder, and He Xin and Luo Donglai stood in the front. The enthusiastic rescue of the five young men gave the two men who fell into the water the hope of life, but unfortunate things happened. During the rescue process, He Xin and Luo Donglai slid into the river. Through the joint efforts of the local people, the people's auxiliary police, the fire brigade and other rescue personnel, Wang X and Liang X who fell into the water were rescued to the shore successively, and there was no danger to their lives. But when Luo Donglai and He Xin were rescued ashore, despite the full rescue efforts of medical staff, the two young people lost their precious lives.
According to the Jiange police investigation, at about 10:40 p.m. on March 12, outside the Jianmen Garden Community in Xiasi Town, Jiange County, Liang X and his girlfriend Ma X had a quarrel, Liang X accidentally fell from the river embankment into the Qingjiang River, and Wang Mou, who was traveling with him, accidentally fell into the Qingjiang River during the rescue process, and He Xin and Luo Donglai, who rushed to the rescue, were unfortunately killed after successful rescue. Two 21-year-old lives, with their youth and vision for the future, left forever, leaving behind the endless grief of their parents and relatives and the endless thoughts of their classmates.
On September 16, 2021, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government rated He Xin and Luo Donglai as martyrs.
