Late autumn, autumn is strong. In addition to the autumn wind and autumn rain, the intoxicating thing is the autumn leaves full of mountains.

Fiery red maple leaves, the most beautiful scenery in late autumn, she decorated the autumn colors of the mountains with a posture that has been weathered by wind and frost.

Pieces of maple leaves are full of love, sprinkling heavy colors, carrying beautiful verses.

Hello everyone, today we come to appreciate Du Mu's masterpiece:

Mountain line

Tang DuMu

Far up the cold mountain stone path slope,

There is a family in Baiyunsheng.

Parking love Maplewood night,

Frost leaves are red in February flowers.

Du Mu Went up the Hill Xu Yuanchong

Since ancient times, many literati and inkers have described autumn, and there is no shortage of classic works, but this work of Du Mu's feeling of autumn has a different taste.

Du Mu traveled to a mountain, the way up the mountain is not smooth, accompanied by the cold of late autumn, the poet walked through the winding path, towards the top of the mountain. In the mountains shrouded in white clouds, the villagers are still faintly visible. It was late, in this deep autumn mountain, seeing the people in the depths of the white clouds, all of a sudden, brought an inexplicable warmth and touch to the poets on the journey. But the poet stopped the car, stopped and stared, and could not bear to leave, because he loved the maple forest under the sunset in front of him. In the light of the setting sun, the frost leaves in late autumn are even redder than the spring flowers in early spring and February!

Mr. Xu Yuanchong translates it into English as:

Going up the hill

From Mu

I go by slanting stony path to the cold hill,

Where rise white cloudy, there appear cottages and bowers.

I stop my cab in maple woods to gaze my fill,

Frost-bitten leaves look redder than early spring flowers.

(translated by Xu Yuanchong)

Du Mu Went up the Hill Xu Yuanchong

Poem title "Mountain Walk"

Translated as Going up the hill is "up the hill."

Du Mu Went up the Hill Xu Yuanchong

The first sentence, far up the cold mountain stone path oblique.

Du Mu traveled to a mountain, and with the chill of late autumn, the poet walked on the winding path towards the top of the mountain. The "cold mountain" in this sentence is definitely not the cold mountain in the Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, nor is there a mountain, called Hanshan. Rather, the climate at that time was already chilly. Why? We know it when we see the last two sentences. "Frost leaves are red in February flowers", that means what is already late autumn. What is the weather like in late autumn? Of course, it has begun to chill. So this "cold mountain" reveals the time, climate and seasonal background of the time.

In the second sentence, there is a family in Baiyunsheng.

In the distance where the white clouds rise, the village farmhouse is faintly visible. In this late autumn deep mountain rush, when the journey is tired, I suddenly see cooking smoke rising in the distance. This family in the depths of the white clouds suddenly brought a burst of warmth and hope to the poets on the journey. Give comfort to the hearts of travelers.

It can be literally translated as: where the white clouds rise, there are huts and gazebos

The third sentence, parking and sitting love Maplewood night.

"Seat" means "because". Because I love the maple forest under the sunset in late autumn, I parked down and stopped to watch. Here the poetry is reversed. It was late, and the poet who had traveled far away was not in a hurry to go to the house, but stopped the car, why? Because the maple grove in front of you is so beautiful.

译文:I stop my cab in maple woods to gaze my fill。

In the fourth sentence, the frost leaves are red in February flowers.

In the light of the setting sun, the autumn leaves of the mountains are breathtakingly beautiful and gaze-in, and the frost leaves in late autumn are even redder than the spring flowers in early spring and February!

译文:Frost-bitten leaves look redder than early spring flowers。

In the pen of the ancient literati inkers, autumn colors are mostly sad, writing autumn is mostly sad autumn, and autumn can always cause a particularly deep, long, and xiaosuo feeling. For example, the famous work "Lady Xiang" of "Chu Ci", "Yuanyuan Xi Autumn Wind, Dongting Bo Xi Mu Leaf". Song Yu said, "Sorrowful autumn is also qi, and the grass and trees of Xiao Ser are shaking and decaying." The first sentence of Cao Pi's "Yan Song Xing" reads, "The autumn wind is cold, and the grass and trees are shaken and dewy." Li Bai "Chang'an is a month, and ten thousand households are pounding clothes." The autumn wind blows endlessly, and it is always jade. Du Fu even wrote about the tragic autumn to the climax, "Wanli tragic autumn is often a guest, and he has been on the stage alone for more than a hundred years." Bai Juyi's "Pipa Line" "Xunyang Jiangtou sends guests at night, and the maple leaves and hagi flowers are autumn and serpent." Ouyang Xiu's "Autumn Sound Endowment", "Gaifu Qiuzhi is also like a form, its color is bleak, and the smoke is cloudy". Therefore, Mr. Yu Dafu made a summary in "Autumn in the Old Capital". He said that Chinese literati, especially poets, have a strong decadent color, so in Chinese poetry, there are many words praising Autumn.

However, in the heart of the poet Du Mu, behind the autumn colors, there is a different kind of happiness and beauty, even if the autumn is cold and the road is tortuous, but he can stop and watch for the autumn leaves that are red in the spring flowers in February, in his eyes, this fiery red scene seems to have made the hungry intestines rudder, the journey of the boat and the car has become so beautiful, this scene makes the poet linger, so what kind of feelings allow Du Mu to write such brilliant verses?

I think it has a lot to do with his life experience, his personality, and his hobbies. Du Mu's ancestor Du Pre was a famous general in the Three Kingdoms period, Du Pre's military law Tao Strategy, the Western Jin Dynasty unified the world, Du Pre was one of the main generals who destroyed Wu. Du Mu was proud of his ancestors since childhood, liked the art of war, and had great ambitions when he was young. It is a pity that he was born in the late Tang Dynasty and was also influenced by the Niu-Li party struggle, so he was full of enthusiasm and had nowhere to exert his enthusiasm, and the real predicament was depressing and sad. But just as he expressed in "Mountain Walk", the transcendence and stretching of his own spirit, and the unique spiritual aesthetic, enabled him to transcend material needs and transcend the depression of ordinary tragic autumn in Lauton's journey, in the setting sun, in the autumn color of the end of the world.

May we also stop our hurried steps and feel this gorgeous and beautiful late autumn!

Stop the car and look at the evening view of MapleWood.

The existence of external materialization is the most beautiful existence only because of the transcendence of inner spiritual aesthetics. The beauty of the world is worth our stopping and concentrating! It makes us feel good!
