The story of time

Talking about design:

My design focuses on "feeling"

Bystander: Tell us about your design experience? What are the important nodes in your design life?

Li Jing: After graduating from Chuanmei in 2002, I entered the home improvement industry, and later entered the tooling industry, participating in the design of large public spaces such as hospitals and banks. In 2008, I entered the real estate industry to work in design management, because from pure design to a job that needs to coordinate the relationship between all parties, it involves a wider range of aspects, which makes me feel more challenging. In 2015, because more than ten years of practice has coordinated the precipitation of management capabilities, there are also certain customer resources, coupled with the real estate market that year is not very good, so I and my former owner He Yiwei partnered to set up their own company - reasonable design.

Bystander: How have your design concepts and design languages changed?

Li Jing: If there is a change, there should be no major change. Maybe when I was designing before, I did what I wanted to do, and I didn't think too much about a real person's feelings. For example, if I sit in a space, maybe a completely white space, as long as its light, light, sunlight, and light are different, the feeling will be different. That is to say, although some spaces are beautiful, they may lack light and there will be something missing, or its lights may be beautiful, and people may feel different.

With the growth of age and the richness of experience, the more things you feel, the more you will not be easily confused by the superficial beauty, such as dressing, you feel uncomfortable, is the most important, will pay more attention to some spiritual qualities. So now I do design should put the feeling first, beautiful is not beautiful, in fact, feeling good will be beautiful.

Bystander: Which case have you been most impressed with in your design career? Why?

Li Jing: The most impressive case should be some large-scale public construction done a long time ago, not because of how good that work really is, but because I first involved in a completely different industry, involving a completely new field. For example, when our whole team designed a large tertiary hospital, I knew what the operating room should be structured, what kind of moving line, what all the materials should be, and it has a lot of new things to bring you, so that you know what the space in different fields is really going on.

Home improvement also has the deepest impression, most of them are emotional, the first villa I designed is a set of old houses that have lived for 10 years, just like I said is not necessarily how beautiful the design is, but it will be more comfortable to live in, although his house is still an old house, but it seems to be a new house. My emotional communication with the owner is very good, and I have been in touch since the house is installed, and I have found some good things, and if I think it is suitable, we will share with each other, which is a very plain kind of friendship.

Bystander: How do you understand time and time? What time of day do you think is best? How do you allocate your 24 hours a day?

Li Jing: Time and time should still be a feeling, for example, with the passage of time, people will definitely change, which is an eternal and unchangeable law, but on the other hand, because of time and time, there will be more experience, experience more things, and become more spiritually rich.

There is no specific time of day is best, but I know that the not good time is when the evening is particularly late, not very advocating overtime, can arrange their own time well, do the best thing when they are in their best state, if overtime makes themselves very tired, the efficiency will not be very high.

Bystander: What book are you reading right now? What books are on the bedside?

Li Jing: "Six Notes of Floating Life", it is a good record of a living state in the era when the author lived, when the male and female protagonists could play on the boat together and enjoy the beauty of Suzhou, they were not bound by the things around them, and it should not be easy to live very self in that era, and our current people sometimes too selfish.

A story of light and shadow

Talking about taming the light:

Light should have a sense of hierarchy and three-dimensionality

Bystander: How do you see "light"? What are its key implications in space?

Li Jing: The meaning of light to space is feeling. The position of the light and the color temperature of the light are different, and the feeling it gives people will be different. Light is very important, the space needs to have natural light, when there is a lack of natural light, we will rely on some different color temperature, illumination of the light to adjust, not necessarily very bright, or very warm, to make some adjustments according to their mood, so that their lives become richer and more refined.

Bystander: As a designer, how do you think lighting can be applied to space? Can you specify this in conjunction with the case?

Li Jing: Once there was a young owner, I think he may need to have more experience and feelings, so he made an inorganic dimming of the light strip, in the winter he can adjust it to warm light, and then in the summer he will cool it a little bit. At that time, this lamp was chosen by KEEY Ichi.

Bystander: Do you have any memorable experiences about the Light in your travels? When did it impress you the most?

Li Jing: Too many times, every time there is a sunset and a sunrise, some give people a feeling of infinite power, some will make you feel particularly comfortable, just want to hide in place, stay for a while; I watch the sunset or sunrise on a high mountain, I will feel very small; in some yards there are wisteria, the light shines on the ground and wall of the yard, I feel that I can directly control the yard here, enjoy the sun... Every place is different, your place is different, and you will have different feelings about light.

Bystander Talk | Li Jing: Design should put feelings first

Bystander: In your opinion, in what ways can the public skillfully use "light" to create a warmer and more comfortable home? Please share a few specific and feasible tips.

Li Jing: If you use light, you need to have a layer, when a space is whether it accommodates one person or a dozen or twenty people, it must feel very comfortable, its lighting should be layered and three-dimensional. It's not that the lamp has to be on the ceiling, it can be on the wall, it can be on the ground, or it can be on the table.

The light of inspiration

Talk about inspiration:

Ordinary places also have beautiful light and shadow

Bystander: What was your design initiation/starting point?

Li Jing: Because I learned Chinese painting from a young age and have some of my own understanding of life, I will notice a lot of small details of life, maybe others should think it is not very important, but I will pay attention to those things. This may have been inherited from my parents, who are also the kind of people who care about details.

Bystander: Who are the industry figures who have influenced you the most?

Li Jing: Jiang Xun, I like to read his books, I like to listen to his lectures, because I think he pays more attention to people's own feelings, he will play a piece of music when he is in class, and a student will listen to it with tears. Many students will just lip service their mouths about how they feel about this kind of music, which is completely defined in words, but it can make a student cry, and I think this is what really touched his heart.

Bystander: How do you find inspiration?

Li Jing: Every design should have something that triggers sensitivity. Let's say we designed a house with its kitchen on the basement floor, and we shrunk some space so that sunlight could be swept directly into the kitchen. Most people may think that the space of the well will be larger, but it is actually just a simple big. My idea is for people who work in the kitchen to see the sunlight sprinkling on the plants, and the plants shine through the sunlight, so that the kitchen may make people more willing to stay.

Designers don't stay in the office all day, the office is uninspired, it doesn't mean that you have to go to those very high-end places, you may go to climb a mountain today, go to the construction site, and come back and you will find that you are inspired. No matter how big or small the place is, whether it is famous or not, sometimes some ordinary occasions, if you are good at capturing, you can also capture some beautiful light and shadow.
