Alicia Vikander, an actress for Tomb Raider, said the sequel to the Tomb Raider: Battle of Origins movie seems to be some time away.
Shortly after the first film premiered, a sequel was announced, with plans to be released in 2021. Things have changed a lot since then, and although 2021 is nearing its end, the film hasn't even started yet.
Alicia Vikander, the lead actress of the Tomb Raider: Battle of Origins sequel, said in an interview with Total Film that the Tomb Raider: Battle of Origins sequel is still a long way from being officially released. The actress said she had a close connection with the sequel's new director, Misha Green, and shared her thoughts on Laura. Vikander said: "I was really excited when the studio first said they were interested in making a sequel, and when someone mentioned Misha to me, I saw lovecraft Country's work and I was very moved. ”
According to the actress, she and the new director had a great time on Zooms, where they discussed the big action scenes and stunts of the Tomb Raider: Battle of Origins sequel. She added: "I hope we can get on track and do something together. ”
While Vikander didn't explicitly state that the film is still in the early stages of development, you might draw such a conclusion from her words. Considering that the action scenes for the Tomb Raider: Battle of Origins sequel are still being discussed, it's safe to assume that it will be a while before the sequel actually begins to be made. Presumably, we might see the film in 2023, five years later than the first.
