During this period, Wenshan Prefecture has formed an ecological protection system focusing on protected areas and supplemented by project implementation by establishing nature reserves at all levels and implementing major forestry projects such as the comprehensive prohibition of commercial logging of natural forests and ecological public welfare forests. At present, the total area of protected areas in the state is about 1 million hectares, including 1 national nature reserve, 6 provincial nature reserves and 1 state nature reserve.

It is understood that the total area of wetlands in Wenshan Quanzhou is 26396.22 hectares, with 862 wetland patches and 73 biomes of wetland plants. According to the survey, Wenshan Prefecture has a total of 4504 species of wild plants in 948 genera and 332 families. Among them, including cycads, Guizhou cycads, gray dried cycads, Panzhihua cycads, single-feather cycads, multi-feather forked cycads, Duoqi cycads and other national Level I protected wild plants

At the same time, there are more than 6,000 species of higher plants in Wenshan Prefecture, accounting for more than 30% of Yunnan and more than 15% of China.
