"Gong Xingyi Diary" The samurai is not literate

author:Chinese Martial Arts Culture Network

[Gong Xingyi's Diary] Wuren No Text: Traditional Chinese martial arts have lacked text data on chronicles, arguments, training methods, and practical combat techniques since ancient times.

However, for thousands of years, martial arts have not only been passed down from generation to generation, but have also been continuously refined and improved... It has always been based on word of mouth, not literal martial proverbs. Therefore, Chinese martial arts have a rich set of proverbs that guide the basic attitudes, relevant theories, technical points, and exercise secrets of martial arts; even the truth of actual combat, as well as the cultivation of martial artists, and so on... And so on.

These proverbs, not only spread in the martial arts community, some, but also spread in society and life, familiar and kind, have become a part of the martial arts culture, quite worthy of attention. However, the existence of this cultural heritage is not good. Some of them are inevitably scattered and lost. Some, many of them misread and misinterpret, explain differences. Some of them are taken from the chapters and sentences in a few martial arts works, and they are used lively and gradually become popular; they turn words into spoken language and change into new martial proverbs. It fully illustrates the vitality of this proverbial culture, which has not faded to this day.

Even though there are thousands of methods and different changes in different eras, the essence is always the same. The martial proverb is like an ancient Chinese classic, although simple, it tells the secret book of martial arts. In addition, today's martial people have increased dramatically with their insight, education, knowledge, and research ability, and the statement that the warriors are not literate has become a thing of the past. The previously few full titles of wen and wu have gradually become a new label for a wide range of martial artists today.
