The world's largest landlocked country - Kazakhstan

A landlocked country is a country that has no coastline.

The world's largest landlocked country is Kazakhstan, located in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is also a country straddling Europe and Asia, with an area of about 2.72 million square kilometers, and its capital is Astana (previously changed to Nur-Sultan) for some time, with a population of about 19.76 million (2023). Note that although Kazakhstan is bordered by the Caspian Sea to the west, the Caspian Sea is not a sea, it is an inland lake, the largest lake in the world (covering an area of about 370,000 square kilometers).

Note: There are currently only 44 landlocked countries (as of 2022) out of 197 countries (193 UN Member States, two observer states (Palestine and the Vatican) and two quasi-sovereign states (Niue and the Cook Islands)), of which 2 are doubly landlocked. It has been argued that the State of the Order of Malta is also a quasi-sovereign State.
