In the 1950s, when I was still a teenager studying painting, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Du Mingchen. At that time, "Tianjin Sandu" was already famous in Jinmen, and the first of the "Three Dus" was Mr. Du Mingcen. For decades, Mr. Du Mingchen has worked quietly in the field of art, and Mr. Dou has entered his old age, and now he has ushered in the 60th anniversary of his art, and he gladly wrote a preface to the collection of commentaries on "Du Mingchen's Artistic Life".
Du Mingchen's "Ode to the Green Pine"
One of Mr. Du Mingcen's important contributions to the development of Tianjin's fine arts is to dedicate most of his life to the cultural undertakings of the masses. After Hua Jia ushered in the second spring of personal artistic creation, Mr. Hard work, in his later years of fine works continued to come out, especially the two "long scrolls" that exhausted half of his life's painstaking efforts reached their peak. It can be described as "half-life fuxian nurturing peach and plum flowers and nails diligent cultivation fruitful and fruity". Mr. Du Mingcen has a good traditional cultural temperament and literacy, a solid foundation in painting, good at calligraphy and painting, involving many aspects, especially landscape figures, and is well-known. His disposition is sincere, diligent, open-minded, frank, like an ancient gentleman, with a wide range of friends, although he has been practicing art for more than 60 years.
Du Mingchen's "Ten Thousand Miles of Spring"
Mr. Du Mingcen has always been at ease with the encounter, embracing simplicity and humility, self-cultivation, not only painting persistence, but also peace of mind, self-sufficiency, no dispute with others, diligent and dedicated. Decades of cold windows and long nights, iron brick green lights, full of traditional painting essence, but not to respect the ancient is still, pay attention to the ancient for the present, laid a solid foundation for painting. From 60 years of art, Mr. Li is well versed in the creation of foreign teachers, the true meaning of the source of the heart, always taking life as the source and creation as the teacher, walking thousands of miles, the eight poles of god, and stepping on the green mountains before they are old. Pen cultivating the earth body possesses the soul. Inside and outside the Great Wall, north and south of the great river, and northwest border, all of them have left Mr. Wang's wind footprints.
Du Mingchen's Magnificent Rivers and Mountains
Mr. Du Mingchen was diligent in farming, and after the flower shell ushered in the second spring of artistic creation. In 1997, when the highly anticipated Three Gorges Dam project on the Yangtze River was intercepted, Mr. Du Mingcen, 64, resolutely embarked on a journey to paint the Three Gorges. Climb dangerous mountains, trace the rapids, sleep in the houses, hang the ancient city; wind and rain, drink dew and meal cream, and calluses on the hands and feet. While walking and painting, he set foot in more than 100 landscapes on both sides of the strait and tributaries, traveled more than 10,000 miles, lasted 40 days, and harvested nearly 300 sketches and sketches, especially the spectacular scene of dam interception recorded on the spot with a 3-meter-long scroll. From 2009 to 2010, in the boom of aid to Xinjiang, Mr. Du Mingcen, 76 years old, began a two-month, 25,000-kilometer journey of "tracing the 'big camper' road, "ink sprinkling Gobi Desert love" style sketching trip. Mr. Li has set foot in more than fifty places in eight regions in northern and southern Xinjiang, in the harsh environment of thin air, bumpy roads and changing temperatures, he has ventured into the devil's city, entered the poplar forest three times, gone deep into the Grand Canyon, bravely climbed the Thousand Buddha Cave, explored the ancient post road, sweated the flame mountain, painted the beacon platform at night, entered the no-man's land, visited the hometown people... He sketched more than 100 pictures, composed more than 50 poems, and collected more than 100 precious old historical photos and took more than 8,000 photos, accumulating detailed creative materials for the creation of "Catching up with the Camp".
Mr. Du Mingcen loves "pine" and "stone" the most in his life, not only under the name of "MatsushiZai", but also good at painting turquoise works. Stone, since ancient times, has been the aesthetic object and creative theme of human beings, and has formed a brilliant stone culture history in China for thousands of years. For example, in the distant ancient times, there were myths and legends such as "Jingwei Stone Reclamation" and "Nuwa Refining Stone To Supplement the Heavens", and most of the painting masters of the past generations loved stones, hidden stones, Wing Stones, and painting stones. Su Shi, Mi Fu, Tang Yin, Qiu Ying, Chen Hongshou, Shi Tao, Bada, Zheng Banqiao, Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, Xu Beihong, Qi Baishi, etc. have all been passed down from one stone to the next generation. However, in recent decades, the painter's painting of the stone seems to have disappeared. Art is expensive in discovery! Mr. Du Mingcen, who loves stones as fate, found that thousands of Lingbi Strange Stones in the "Lingbi Yao Forest" in the "Baocheng Strange Stone Garden" were brilliant, for the peaks were mountains, saga saving the sky, and doing his best, and could not help but sigh that "the sky is falling, not like the world"(Bai Juyi sentence), he resolutely stepped into the stone garden, observed and studied the thin, leaky, wrinkled, transparent form and quality, color, rhyme, pattern, sound and other characteristics of the Lingbi Stone, after nearly a year of spring, summer, autumn and winter, completed nearly 200 sketches, and selected 146 of them to publish the "Lingbi Stone Painting Spectrum". It has filled the gap in the stone spectrum of the art world for more than half a century. As Comrade Li Ruihuan, a central leader, said after visiting the Duming Cen Lingbi Stone Sketching Exhibition: "Lingbi Stone Sketching is very good, inheriting and carrying forward the tradition of ancient people painting stones, and innovating", "These paintings are a good reference material for painters", "Stone paintings can be used as a reference book, for beginners to paint, as a model." "Lingbi Stone Painting Notation" is another amazing move after Mr. Du Mingcen created the Jingu Long Scroll. This was finally accomplished by Mr. Ming cen after years of brewing and spending nearly a year through careful observation, understanding, research and full preparation of the Lingbi Stone. What is touching is that although Du is more than seventy years old, he still works tirelessly, devotes himself to creation, realizes artistic ideals with full energy and enthusiasm, and sets an example for future generations. In this regard, Mr. Sun Huaibin, a painter, scholar and expert on Lingbi stone, commented: "Mr. Ming cen inherited the ancients, and distinguished from the ancients, not only with the stone independently into the frame, and specifically with the Lingbi stone into the painting, which is also rare among the previous generation of painters, the examination of ancient and modern painting stones, Lingbi stone paintings have such a huge, and outstanding family, Mr. Du Mingcen should be the first to push the country. ”
Du Mingchen is sketching
Mr. Du Mingcen is recognized as the most diligent painter, Mr. Du in the 60 years of art, whether engaged in the masses of art education work, or rigorous artistic creation, Mr. Du has always observed society and thought about life with the humanistic spirit. Thoughts have been experienced, life has been accumulated, and art has been precipitated. After entering the flower armor, the artistic spark reached its peak and broke out, and the 100-meter-long folk volume "Hanqiu Jinwei Tu", which took 20 years to reflect the history and culture of Jingu, was completed in 2004. After its publication, Mr. Zhou Ruchang gave a high evaluation and wrote an inscription: Where is the scenery of the hometown stationed, and the new map of the upper river is Wei Jinqiu. "Hanqiu Jinwei Map" is also known as Tianjin's "Qingming River Map". "Tianjin Daily" commented: "It is a work of submerged repetition, a work of tranquility and far-reaching, a real giant production, a real fine product." ”
Mr. Du Mingcen entered Xinjiang twice, taking the theme of Tianjin Yangliuqingren "catching up with the big camp" 130 years ago, which lasted for three years, and once again completed the 30-meter-long volume "The Record of Catching up with the Big Camp" when he was more than old, and reproduced the scene of the big camp guests "marching thousands of miles to catch the big camp" and "three thousand goods full of heavenly mountains" from twelve nodes and twelve contents, and praised the modern commercial miracle of Tianjin merchants supporting the Qing army to defend the reunification of the motherland, promoting national unity, and opening up a channel for commercial exchanges between Tianjin and Xinjiang. In 2012, a special exhibition as one of Tianjin's cultural aid activities to aid Xinjiang was held in Urumqi, causing a sensation. He was praised by Harts Amat, former vice chairman of the China Artists Association, as "a historical feat, an artistic reproduction". Deng Weidong, chairman of the Xinjiang Artists Association, commented: "The creation of this long volume reflects the sense of historical responsibility and mission of the old artists, the spiritual realm of the high wind and bright festival, and sets an example for how the current art community can create major historical theme works." Mr. Zhang Shifan, former president of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, once said: "'Catching the Great Camp' is a fine painting that has poured all the enthusiasm, energy, education and artistic skills of his artistic career after Du Lao's 20-year-long volume "Hanqiu Jinwei Tu" created in 20 years. ”
Chinese calligraphy and painting artists have always had their own expertise, and Mr. Du Mingcen is a model of both work and writing. In 2012, Mr. Du completed two huge landscape paintings of 460 square feet, which can be called new masterpieces. These two huge paintings were created by Mr. Du at the invitation of the municipal party committee and the municipal government for the newly built VIP hall and conference hall of the Tianjin Hotel. One is "Magnificent Rivers and Mountains", and the other is "Ten Thousand Miles of Qiankun And Thousands of Miles of Spring". The two paintings create the size of Tianjin's national painting. As a companion piece, the theme of the work is to express the great motherland wind and the beautiful sun, the magnificent artistic conception of the mountains and rivers, the former expresses the rich autumn color, implying the rich prosperity and strength of the earth; the latter shows the spring color of the mountains with light green as the main tone, implying that the motherland is full of spring and thriving.
Throughout Mr. Du Mingcen's 60 years of art, Mr. Du Mingcen has created more than 6,000 works, nearly 10,000 sketches, and published more than 700 works, in addition to the long volume "Hanqiu Jinwei Tu", "Catching the Great Camp", the huge landscape painting "Magnificent River And Mountain", "Ten Thousand Miles of Qiankun Wanli Spring", there are 360 lines (group paintings) in folklore, "XiaJiang Folk House Map" and "Wufeng Twelve Peaks" (group paintings) depicting the Three Gorges, "Canyon Echoing Camel Bells" and "Hu Yang Song" (group paintings) depicting Xinjiang, "Shitang Shenyun" describing Inner Mongolia, and so on.
Mr. Du Mingcen devoted a lot of effort to the cultural work of the masses in Tianjin throughout his life. As an artist with a sense of the times, Mr. Du Mingchen used his brush to record history and paint the spiritual outlook of the times. The other side of Mr. Du Mingchen's contribution is to sprinkle most of his life sweat on the Palace of Culture, discovering and cultivating some young painters. He is a recognized art educator and social activist. Especially in the middle of the last century, Mr. Du Mingcen took the lead in organizing more than 60 art classes, organized eight art creation groups, developed into the "Tianjin Staff Art Research Association" with nearly a thousand people, and successively trained a mass art team of nearly 3,000 people, a large number of whom were either admitted to art academies, or directly went to art units to serve, or became famous painters, and some also went to the world because of art and are active on today's stage. In order to enable these young people with artistic talent to receive better art education, he has invited nearly 160 famous painters in Tianjin and Beijing, such as Hua Junwu, Ye Qianyu, and Huang Yin, Sun Qifeng, Wang Xuezhong, Sun Kegang, PuZuo, Xiao Lang, Wang Songyu, Zhao Songtao, Mu Zhongqin, Liang Qi, Mu Lingfei, Liu Zhiyong, Li Kunxiang, Fu Nailin, and so on to come to give lectures, so that a large number of staff art lovers and young students can get the enlightenment education and artistic influence of fine arts in the cultural hot land of the Second Workers' Cultural Palace, and then change their lives , realized the dream of a painter. Mr. Sun Qifeng said: "The second palace is a preparatory school for the Academy of Fine Arts. Sun Kegang said: "Before the liberation, Liu Zijiu's Lake Society cultivated many talents, and after the liberation, Du Mingcen's art class and research association created more talents. ”
People who understand the history of the "Second Palace" will always talk about it and praise the important role played by Mr. Du Mingchen in one voice. Nowadays, many of those artistic young people who came out of the Second Palace have become the backbone of today's art world, and I myself have received the enlightenment education of painting there and had the privilege of meeting Ye Qianyu and the old predecessors of tianjin painting. Du Lao can be said to have been peachy and plum. Whenever it is mentioned, Elder Du always humbly says: It is inseparable from the support of the leaders of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions and the Second Palace at that time, and we must not forget the silent contributions of teachers such as Li Xianglong. "Life goes on, the cultivation is not endless", "speak with works", this is the most reasonable quote of Du Lao's life, he not only said it, but also did it, I think, it is also a true portrayal of Mr. Du Mingcen's 60 years of art, I think it should be added: half a life to support the talents, to promote talents.
Tao Li does not speak, and the next is a mystery. Mr. Ji Zhenmin wrote when reviewing the history of Tianjin art: "Mr. Du Mingcen has contributed to the mass art work of Tianjin, he is a model of the mass art work in Tianjin, and he will record it in the history of the development of Tianjin art.
