He Jiaying, born in Tianjin in 1957, loved painting since childhood, was admitted to the painting department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 1977 to study Chinese painting, and stayed on to teach after graduation in 1980. He was a member of the 9th, 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and is currently the vice chairman of the China Artists Association, the vice president of the China Gongbi Painting Association, the doctoral tutor of the China Academy of Arts, and the president of the Gongbi Painting Research Institute.
He Jiaying has made his own contribution to the transformation of Chinese Gongbi figure painting to contemporaryity.
