One shop that must be mentioned separately is the treasure that I discovered during a trip to Fukui Prefecture, ESHIKOTO.
When the car arrived at the store, I saw this ultra-simple, modern design building covered in snow from a distance. "Hided" on a small gentle slope, it seems to be integrated with the surrounding mountain scenery.
ESHIKOTO is actually a new complex facility built by Fukui Prefecture's famous "Kuroryu Sake Brewery", which combines the culture and food of Fukui Prefecture with its own Japanese sake characteristics. There is not only a shop where you can experience and buy Japanese sake and local souvenirs, but also a restaurant called "Apéro & Pâtisserie acoya", which is very good.
This time, I made an appointment with a friend to have lunch at the restaurant and ordered the fish and pasta specialties, which are super fresh. After dinner, watching the snow scenery and eating a special dessert in the store is really good.
