In the third minute, Bajčetić's low shot from inside the box was saved, and then Saravia missed the opportunity and his header was deflected just wide. In the 19th minute, Salah crossed diagonally from the right into the box and Jota deflected his heel off the ball line.
In the 24th minute, Wolves made a passive substitution, with Etnuri replacing the injured Bueno. The game was locked in a rut and in the 39th minute, Nunez inserted a cross from the box and Elliott followed up with a header in front of goal, but the ball was deflected.
In first-half stoppage time, Núñez passed the ball and Elliott followed up with a beautiful volley from inside the box, and José Sa fell to the ground to block the ball with his fingertips.
In the 53rd minute, Lemina and Fabinho both fell to the ground, and the referee believed that Fabinho had shown a yellow card for a foul, and the Liverpool midfielder was very unhappy about this. In the 64th minute, Bourdance and João Gomez came off the bench.
In the 66th minute, Jota was brought down in the box at high speed, and Nunez followed up with a low right-footed shot into the net, but the VAR review ruled that the goal was invalid, and Jota fouled Gilman.
