Star-studded and full of suspense, Tony Leung's new film "Nameless" is not simple

The first place in the hot search list, with a pre-sale box office of nearly 100 million.

"Nameless", directed by Cheng Er, can be called a big hit in the Spring Festival films.

Following 2016's "The Demise of Romance", he set the story in Shanghai. The difference is that this time is no longer the death of an era, but walking through the darkness and facing the light.

Suspense and reversal are the keywords of the film.

Warplanes passed through the sky, shadows reflected on the turquoise water, casting shadows of death; The warm and beautiful home of the past was destroyed by artillery fire, leaving only the ruins of broken walls; The dog squatting between the ruins had messy hair and looked around blankly, while the Shiba Inu on the Japanese soldier's motorcycle had a helmet and sunglasses and arrogance.

In the dark night, the heavily armed Japanese army broke through the rain curtain and entered Shanghai.

Our land of mountains and rivers, our bright sun and blue sky, have been invaded by foreign enemies. Our people, bullied and trampled, look up to the blue sky in the depths of the water.

The story of "Nameless" takes place in this context.

On the hidden front, many warriors fought with the enemy, dangerous and dead, but their names were buried deep for various reasons.

Cheng Er's story this time is based on them as the protagonists.

Like the luxurious lineup of "The Demise of Romance", "Nameless" is also star-studded.

Tony Leung + Wang Yibo

The name Tony Leung is synonymous with acting. He has debuted for decades and won numerous awards, and can control both dramas and comedies, and is truly humorous.

Spy war-themed films, Tony Leung has acted, such as "The Wind Listener". But "Nameless" is completely different from his previous works of similar themes from aesthetic style to narrative, as well as character setting.

In the trailer, he appears in formal wear.

With a delicate hairstyle and well-dressed, he is obviously not a small person.

Sometimes with a solemn expression, with an awe-inspiring murderous aura in his eyes, he walked between the corridors; Sometimes sitting behind the table, relaxed posture, smiling on his face, between the drinks, in the posture of a victor, what agreement was reached with the other party.

Or, propped up on the table with one arm, cigarette in fingers, leaning forward, and smiling at the person on the other side with an overwhelming offensive stance; Or, take a gun against the enemy and fight a life-and-death battle with your opponent.

But this character is exactly evil, and it is difficult to conclude based on these clues alone.

In contrast, Secretary Ye, played by Wang Yibo, is easier to judge whether it is good or bad.

Not to mention that this character has an archetypal character as a reference, the clues given in the trailer alone are enough.

Suit and leather shoes, tall posture, handsome eyebrows, both a little noble, but also a little defiant, it is easy to think of those young people with good origins, outstanding abilities, and ideals of serving the country in similar theme works.

But Ye Mi's identity is obviously more complicated.

In the trailer, there is a picture of him in the same frame as the Japanese. But the seemingly respectful posture is actually alienating; The camera cuts to the scene, and he violently beats Japanese soldiers in the streets and kills Japanese officers indoors.

The two people in the trailer and the character poster seem to be on the same front, but they are mostly facing backs. In multiple shots, Tony Leung always backlit, from light to dark, while Wang Yibo is the opposite. Coupled with the thrilling life and death fight between the two in the trailer, the relationship between the characters and even the plot direction seem to be looming.

However, at the press conference, Tony Leung said that he played a "kind pacifist", while Wang Yibo described his role as "very bitter in his heart" and "distressing".

So, behind that life-and-death battle, what is the hidden secret?

Zhou Xun

Zhou Xun, who has collaborated with Tony Leung in "The Great Magician" and "The Wind Listener", even if it is only a friendship this time, but she is known as a "drama master", and she will definitely not let herself have no sense of existence because there are not many scenes.

Zhou Xun in the trailer is dignified and elegant, gentle in temperament, and looks like a magnolia when he smiles. But after the confrontation "guard" mode is turned on, the tenacity and counterattack in the eyes are both, and the whole person instantly becomes no longer soft.

Although the identity of the character is unknown, Zhou Xun makes people feel that this woman will never be just an embellishment.

Huang Lei

Huang Lei, who has appeared in many Republican dramas and is himself a Nortel teacher, has a strong literati atmosphere.

In the trailer, his character wears a top hat and a long robe, with a convincing calm and elegance from face to posture.

At the same time, there is a bit of a businessman's posture.

According to the director's preference for using details such as light and shadow and props to make hints, according to the appearance scene of Huang Lei in the trailer, the position of the characters, etc., blindly guess that he played in the film, most likely a certain underground work leader of the square.

Wang Chuanjun

When he starred in "The History of the Demise of Romance" before, Wang Chuanjun's most well-known role was the magic of Guan Gu in "Love Apartment".

In other words, not yet a big hit.

And he starred in the film is only Mr. Lu's horse boy, a small role with few scenes. But Wang Chuanjun left a deep impression on the audience in a few minutes because of the shrewdness of the city that played the role.

This time I filmed Cheng Er's scene, and there was a feeling of "horse boy becoming a big guy" inside and outside the play.

With unmessy hair, delicate round-rimmed glasses, and a well-groomed beard, from appearance to temperament, from eyes to body movements, there is an "evil" energy that comes out of the gray area.

However, looking at the poster position, it does not look like a bad person.

roc

Dapeng, who is familiar with comedy, has changed his identity again and again in recent years, becoming a "generalist" who integrates acting, hosting, singing and directing.

Among the various roles, he is especially good at interpreting small people.

And Cheng Er, who has always liked to break the previous image of actors and give the audience a sense of contrast, changed him from the humble and funny bottom grassroots in "Nameless" to a gloomy-looking and deep government official in the city.

How Dapeng performed after the "promotion" is expected.

Jiang Shuying + Zhang Jingyi

In the dark, vermilion dotted.

The female characters in "Nameless" are like the collar design of the character played by Jiang Shuying.

The proportion is not large, but it has a bit of an eye-catching effect.

Jiang Shuying in the film is either pale in the rich luxury, or red in the body, mysterious and dreamy. Zhang Jingyi, who is equally delicate and gorgeous in shape, is not in the same frame, but it makes people feel that these two characters are "one".

Either a continuation of a similar fate, or a correspondence that is not simultaneous and empty.

And in Zhang Jingyi's eyes when she looked at Wang Yibo, there was too much desire to say and rest, and there was a high probability that there might be emotional lines.

The cast is strong, the story is full of suspense, and the characters are difficult to distinguish between good and bad at the end.

Coupled with director Cheng Er's strict to almost paranoid detail control, and a film style that blends black humor and violent aesthetics, it is not surprising that "Nameless" is highly anticipated.
