It was the first time in three months that a jackpot had been drawn, and it was the second-highest jackpot ever drawn in Mega Millions history, behind the $1.53 billion drawn in South Carolina in 2018.
Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and only the 6 numbers on the ticket exactly match the numbers drawn to win the jackpot.
According to the rules, if the jackpot is drawn, the winner will only receive the full prize if he chooses to claim the prize in annual installments for the next 29 years. If you choose to claim it all at once, the bonus will be halved. Previously, most of the winners chose to receive their prizes in one lump sum.
