Stilt walking occurs on traditional Chinese folk festivals such as New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, etc., and is a kind of traditional Chinese folk cultural activities.
Stepping on stilts is commonly known as binding wood feet, also known as "stilts", "stepping on stilts", "tying high feet" and "walking high legs", which is a popular mass skill performance among the people.
The stilts in Longwu Town, Shiping County, are famous for their "long history, high height, and great difficulty". Locals believe that stepping on stilts can pray for good weather, prosperity of the six animals, and abundant grains in the coming year. At the beginning of the year, the "Spring Festival Party" was held, and everyone went out of the house, dressed up carefully, held worship ceremonies, and stilt performances.
