Ficedula narcissina: 117–137 mm in length and 11–13.5 g in weight. It is a small bird with small plumage that is mainly black and yellow. The male has a black upperpart, a yellow waist, white patches on the wings, characterized by yellow eyebrow lines, and the underparts are mostly orange.] The female has olive gray upperparts, a brown tail, and a light brownish yellowish underparts. The difference with the white-browed harrier is that there is no yellow at the waist. The iris is dark brown, the mouth is blue-black, and the feet are lead blue.
