In just over ten days, the general Chen Guang, acting commander of the 115th Division, jointly commanded the 343rd Brigade with Luo Ronghuan, fighting continuously in the area of Noon City and Jinggou, annihilating more than a thousand Japanese troops and playing a full house.

On March 14, 1938, Chen Guang and Luo Ronghuan received reports that the Japanese army was moving towards the Yellow River on the west side of wucheng town in Yuxian County, and there was an attempt to cross the Yellow River in the west and invade the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, so they decided to ambush the Japanese army in the area of Wucheng Town, forcing the Japanese troops who had entered Daning to return.

To this end, Chen Guang ordered Yang Dezhi's 685th Regiment to set up an ambush on both sides of the highway east of Daning. On March 16, more than 200 Japanese heavy troops and more than 100 mules and horses were completely annihilated by the 685th Regiment at Luoqu. A day later, Yang Yong

The 686th Regiment also reported that it had annihilated nearly 200 enemy troops on the Puxian Highway and seized 6 cars. On the 17th, after consulting with Luo Ronghuan, Chen Guang decided to take advantage of the new defeat of the Japanese army to attack the town of Noon at night. On the night of the same day, Li Tianyou, acting brigade commander of the 343rd Brigade, personally led his troops to launch a surprise attack, killing more than 50 Japanese troops, burning more than 10 cars, and abandoning the city and fleeing.

After these three battles, Chief Chen Luo judged that the Japanese army would retaliate, so he ordered the 686th Regiment and the Fenxi guerrillas to set up an ambush in the mountains on both sides of the Jinggou to Zhangzhuang Highway, and after a day and a night of fierce fighting, once again eliminated more than 600 Japanese troops dispatched from Pucheng.

After five days of fierce fighting, Chen Guang and Luo Ronghuan commanded the 343rd Brigade to annihilate more than 1,000 enemy troops in the area of Wucheng and Jinggou, destroyed 79 cars, and captured more than 200 mules and horses, forcing the Japanese troops who had reached the east bank of the Yellow River to return to Puxian county due to lack of food and ammunition, thus thwarting the Japanese army's attempt to invade the Yellow River in the west.
