Division Commander Chen Guang led hundreds of people from the 115th Division to be invited into the stronghold by the Japanese army for lunch

author:Chen Guanren

At noon, Division Commander Chen Guang and several hundred people of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army were invited into the base by the Japanese army in a stronghold to entertain them for lunch. More than a dozen devils were so busy sweating that they killed a pig to comfort them.

This was a miracle that happened in November 1939 when the Japanese army "swept up" the Eighth Route Army.

What's going on?

At that time, Chen Guang led the 115th Division in the Linyi area. The Japanese chief Shunroku Hata suddenly led 30,000 heavy troops to "clear up" and surround them. One day, Hata Shunroku received a secret report from a traitor that the 115th Division was in front of Huangbu and in the area of Wanggou, and he was overjoyed and immediately sent a squadron of the Kobe Brigade of the 33rd Division to find out the truth and bring a batch of military uniforms to the Japanese army in Linyi City.

As a result, Chen Guang sent the special battalion of the 115th Division to fight the ambush of the Japanese squadron, and ended the battle in half an hour, completely annihilating the Japanese army, and then cleaned up the battlefield and evacuated.

This time, the special service battalion also captured the new uniforms of the Japanese army's dozen or so vehicles.

The next morning, Chen Guang took the 115th Division to the north, preparing to break through the encirclement of Shunroku Hata and return to Yimeng Mountain. Before leaving, he said to Huang Guozhong, deputy commander of the special service battalion:

"You give the devil military uniforms captured yesterday to the cadres and special service battalions, one set for each person, and we will march together in them. ”

He also confessed: "Call the enemy cadres who can speak Japanese, waving the sun flag, to open the way in front. ”

Huang Guozhong said in surprise: "Division commander, we are marching in broad daylight, and we are not going to conduct reconnaissance, what are we doing in devil uniforms?

"After a while, cross the blockade and you'll understand. Chen Guang said.

So, according to Chen Guang's instructions, everyone changed into Japanese military uniforms in unison, and marched swaggering on the highway in broad daylight, and the speed was very fast. On the main road, groups of Japanese soldiers often passed by them, some devils even ran over, smoked with the soldiers, and some smiled and greeted them in Japanese. It's even more interesting when passing through a Japanese stronghold. The devils in the stronghold saw Chen Guang and them coming from a distance, and immediately put a few buckets of boiling water on the side of the road, stood next to them, and warmly beckoned them to drink boiling water. Some fighters couldn't help but laugh, wanting to laugh, but they didn't dare to laugh.

Soon, Chen Guang led everyone to cross the blockade.

It was full of heavily armed Japanese troops, and it was heavily guarded. However, for the "imperial army" led by Chen Guang, the Japanese army not only did not interrogate, but also took the initiative to give way.

At noon, Chen Guang and the others were actually invited into the base by the Japanese soldiers in a stronghold for lunch. More than a dozen devils were so busy sweating that they killed a pig to comfort them. Before leaving, Okamoto, the leader of the stronghold team, also stopped a few trucks and sent Chen Guang and the others to a certain distance.

In this way, Chen Guang took hundreds of people, did not spend a single shot, did not lose a single person or horse, and successfully returned to Yimeng Mountain on November 12, successfully jumped behind the "sweeping" Japanese army, and joined up with political commissar Luo Ronghuan.

When Luo Ronghuan saw Chen Guang, he said in surprise: "Old Chen, you are not small!"

"Shunroku Hata is familiar with us, so we like to engage in night battles, and the devils are very vigilant at night and often paralyzed during the day. Chen Guang said with a smile, "This time, I will march in broad daylight, break the convention, and take advantage of the paralysis of the devils." Sure enough, the road was smooth, and I was invited to dinner by the devil, just like playing at home, and it was happy. But I didn't kill a few of his devil soldiers!"

The book "The Great River Goes East: Why They Gathered Under the Banner of Mao Zedong" by Chen Guanren and published by the Communist Party History Publishing House of the Communist Party of China recounts this matter. The book is another bestseller after "The Great River Goes East: Why They Follow Mao Zedong", and it is the society's annual bestseller and has been on the bestseller list many times.
