Chen Guangjian is one of the most influential female painters in contemporary China. In June 1936, Chen Guangjian was born in Rongchang City, Sichuan Province, and went to Shanghai with his parents to study at the age of 11. In 1953, he was admitted to the Chinese Painting Department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, and was trained by famous painters such as Pan Tianshou, Fang Zengxian, and Zhou Changgu.

In 1959, Chen Guangjian came to teach at the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts on the banks of Shaolingyuan, where he insisted on creating in addition to teaching, and attracted wide attention in the national art circles. His early works mainly reflected realistic themes such as women's participation in socialist construction. In the early 60s of the last century, he successively created "Female Gas Wolder", "Salute to the Heroic Model", "Family Participation in Labor" and "Secretary in the Field"; in 1964, he created "Cave Cave Primary School", which was collected by the National Art Museum of China, and in 1965, his work "Self-study" recorded the learning scene in the private cave primary school in northern Shaanxi with its delicate painting style, and became one of the representative works of contemporary Chinese painting.

In 1984, he won the silver medal of the 6th National Art Exhibition with his painting "Train to the West", in 1989, he was selected for the 7th National Art Exhibition with "Landlubber", and in 1994, he won the Excellence Award of the 8th National Art Exhibition for his two works "Green Frontier" and "Mother's Hand", becoming a female painter who won a lot of awards at the National Art Exhibition at that time. She has also visited Canada, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Japan and other countries, and her works have been exhibited and collected in Japan, North Korea, Singapore, India and other countries, and she has also held art exhibitions in Taiwan, Hong Kong and other places. His works have noble aesthetic aspirations, inheriting the fine tradition of Chinese painting on the one hand, and unifying the contemporary style of pioneering brush and ink with the times on the other, expressing the formal beauty and spiritual beauty with the appeal of the times, and opening up a new look of Chinese gongbi painting.
