Speaking of mulberry, I have to say the south ditch of Hongnan Village. This well-known mulberry production site, located at the foot of Hongluo Mountain, is an independent natural tun. Since there are no factories and mines within 10 kilometers of the surrounding area, the environment is not polluted. The mulberry garden is built in a mountain pass, with high temperature and sufficient light in early spring, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and is not affected by seasonal winds; The large temperature difference between day and night, the high accumulation of sugar, coupled with the unique red garden soil of the area is rich in iron tetroxide, high content of organic matter and iron and other minerals, which is very suitable for mulberry fruit tree growth. At the same time, the varieties are unified, the planting density is suitable, the orchards are neat and consistent, the trees are robust, the ventilation is transparent, and the natural conditions derived from the natural conditions of Tiancheng have created the mulberries here "large, bright, sweet and good taste", and are well-known inside and outside the province with this feature.
In 400 years, Mulberry King became a scene in Hongnan Village
Nangou has been planting mulberry trees for more than 200 years, and there are 15 mulberry trees in the mulberry garden that are more than 100 years old, and there is a 400-year-old mulberry king. In the past, villagers planted mulberry trees in front of the house and behind the house, and did not form a scale, and the economic benefits were not ideal. In order to lead the villagers to get rich, the village party branch uses the mulberry in the village as the basic resource, takes advantage of its high nutritional value, overcomes the drawbacks of short storage period, makes full use of the strengths and avoids the shortcomings, carries out deep processing, and makes the mulberry industry fine and deep, so as to increase the income of farmers and strengthen the collective economy of the village. In 2011, the organization established the Nangou Mulberry Professional Cooperative in Huludao City, registered the trademark of "Hongluo Nangou" in 2013, obtained the National Geographic Indication in 2014, and obtained the green food certification in 2015.
In 2016, after the Party Committee of Hongluo Danang Town put forward the idea of "taking a big step in structural adjustment, land intensification should be carried out first, multi-industry road to get rich, and working together to enrich rich farmers", they actively changed the concept of planting, completed the comprehensive treatment project of mulberry ecology in Hongnan Village, supported water, electricity and field roads, connected the land into pieces, standardized planting, expanded the planting scale of mulberry characteristic industries, and vigorously promoted advanced technology, created the largest mulberry production site in western Liaoning, and declared the "hometown of Liaoning special mulberry". In recent years, Hongnan Village has produced more than 600,000 kilograms of fresh mulberry per year, with an output value of more than 5 million yuan.
At the beginning of 2017, under the strong support and guidance of the town party committee and government, Hongnan Village set up a village collective enterprise, Hongluo Danang Mulberry Food Co., Ltd., to participate in the dried mulberry processing project and purchase the villagers' fresh mulberries at a guaranteed reserve price. In 2017, the company produced 2500 kilograms of dried mulberries, generating a profit of 150,000 yuan, poor households received dividends, and Hongnan Village also had a village collective income, throwing off the hat of "empty shell village" in one fell swoop; In 2020, after the dividend at the end of the year, the village's collective economic income reached 80,000 yuan. After tasting the sweetness of the dried mulberry processing project, the Nangou Mulberry Professional Cooperative cooperated with relevant enterprises to develop mulberry wine and mulberry leaf tea, and the mulberry industry chain continued to lengthen.
02 Small mulberries make a big industry
From mid-May to the end of June every year, walking into Hongnan Village, you will see a green mulberry garden, in this season, mulberries have entered the peak production period, sweet and juicy mulberries, bright colors can't help but stop here, frolicking and picking.
In recent years, Hongnan Village, which relies on mulberry production to embark on the road to prosperity, has not been complacent, and on the basis of developing the mulberry industry with local characteristics, they have continuously changed their development ideas, adjusted the industrial development model, integrated agriculture, processing industry and tourism, and developed exquisite agriculture and tourism agriculture through scientific standards, so that the traditional agricultural business model has changed, so that Hongnan Village has become a beautiful village composed of exquisite agricultural scenic spots.

In 2017, with the strong support of the town government, they developed adoptive agriculture, fought for the infrastructure funds of the district government, invested 500,000 yuan to build a cement road leading to Nangou in the village, invested 1.5 million yuan to build 2 parking lots and a road around the mountain in the park, and opened a 1,000 square meter mulberry wholesale market. They selected 13 mulberry trees, opened 13 adoption areas, selected more than 1,000 mulberry trees for adoption, adopted the "Internet + adoption agriculture + party building poverty alleviation" model, customers can come to the mulberry garden at any time after adopting mulberry trees, the balance of unpicked will be made of dried mulberries in a 10:1 ratio to customers, and sent to the place designated by customers by courier. Mulberry adoption has received positive response and extensive participation from all walks of life from all walks of life in the whole district, with 1136 adopted trees and a signed amount of 220,000 yuan. According to incomplete statistics, in 2017, relying solely on adoption, Nangou farmers can increase their income by 1 million yuan, and adoption agriculture has also become the city's agricultural benchmark industry.
At the same time, they used mulberry picking to make rural tourism products bigger, and built a farm tourism facility with the theme of "living in the farm yard, eating farm vegetables, and appreciating the farm scenery". They also held five consecutive mulberry cultural festivals, through the three-dimensional publicity of the major media in the city and district, the fame of Nangou mulberry was unstoppable, and tourists from all over the world flocked endlessly, so that the villagers sold the mulberry without leaving home, and the supply exceeded demand every day, and the price of mulberry has been more than 5 yuan per kilogram, and each family has obtained a considerable income. In recent years, Hongnan Village has received more than 200,000 tourists per year, and the tourism consumption income has exceeded 2 million yuan per year. Hongnan Village has also been awarded the honorary titles of Provincial Rural Tourism Demonstration Village and Municipal Civilized Village.

The mulberries unpicked by their “adopted owners” will be made into dried mulberries and mailed to clients.
The mulberry-adoption business is actively responded by local governments, government-affiliated institutions, companies and residents, with the adopted mulberry trees amounting to 1136, and a contract sum of 220,000 yuan. In 2017, the adoption business alone brought villagers an extra 1 million yuan, making it the benchmark for the agriculture in Huludao.
The mulberry-picking has become the major name card for rural tourism in the village. The agritainment activities featuring “living in farmhouses, tasting country food, and enjoying rural scenery” have been organized, and relevant facilities set up. With the promotion of local media, villagers can not only have tourists in an endless stream, but also have their mulberries sell out without stepping out of their homes. Mulberries, at a current market price of 10 yuan per kilogram, brought a considerable income for all households of the village.
In recent years, the village attracted over 200,000 tourists each year, with an annual tourist revenue over 2 million yuan. The village is accredited by the government of Liaoning Province as the model of rural tourism.
