This statement really did not treat Sun Wukong as an outsider, and it reflected the closeness of the relationship between the two sides. It can be seen from this how rude and arrogant Maitreya Buddha's yellow-browed king became, and if Rulai knew, and Maitreya Buddha had no legitimate reason, the consequences would be very serious.

Guanyin dealt with the red child, showed a variety of mana, forged a South China Sea out, and then wrote a mysterious character in Sun Wukong's hand to lure the red child over. Guanyin also forged a lotus platform made of Tiangang knife, and after the red child sat up, the wooden fork was hit with a descending magic wand and penetrated the red child's leg. Finally, with the golden hoop given by Rulai, he wrapped the red child and finally tamed it.

Although guanyin is wonderful to pour upside down for half a day, it also exposes Guanyin's shortcomings in descending demons. If Guanyin could easily defeat the Red Child, he wouldn't be able to lay out so many traps and go around in such a big circle. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Western Heavens seem to rely on spells and magic weapons, and rarely directly fight physical hand-to-hand combat. If you use the Buddha's hand against Sun Wukong and Dapeng, Maitreya relies on spells to deal with the Yellow Brow King, and Lingji relies on the Flying Dragon Staff to deal with the Yellow Wind Monster. In other words, the four Kongo and the wooden fork have shown physical hand-to-hand combat ability. This may also be one of the reasons why Xi Tian must find a way to win over physical melee masters such as Sun Wukong, the Bull Demon King, and Dapeng.

12. The 49th time, the Battle of Tongtianhe, Sun Wukong asked for help, and Guanyin used a bamboo basket to subdue the Inspiration King. We have analyzed this plot in detail earlier. The Tongtian River, the King of Inspiration, and a black industry of Guanyin. Guanyin was also quite depressed, and the water washed away the Dragon King Temple. This was the last time Guanyin directly intervened to help the sutra group to descend the demon. In the following battle of Qingniujing, Sun Wukong did not go to find Guanyin.

13. The 55th time, the Battle of the Scorpion Essence, Guanyin took the initiative to come to the door for the first time to report the letter, providing the information of the Scorpion Essence, and asking Sun Wukong to go to the Pleiades Chicken to subdue her. However, Guanyin also said that "I am also close to him", and for the first time confessed that he lacked mana. This time, Guanyin transforms into an old mother, is recognized by Sun Wukong, and then appears as the original messenger.

14. The 57th time, the true and false Monkey King, Sun Wukong was driven away by the Tang monks and ran to the South China Sea to cry to Guanyin. [When the walker saw the bodhisattva, he fell down and bowed down, but he could not stop the tears from gushing like a fountain, and cried loudly.] The bodhisattva taught Mu Fork and Shan Cai to help up, "Goku, there are very sad things, obviously speaking, don't cry, don't cry, I will save you and eliminate disasters." The practitioner wept and prayed again, "When the disciple was a man, did he ever receive that anger?" Since the Bodhisattva was liberated from natural disasters, taught Shamen, and protected the Tang monks from going to the Western Heavens to pray to the Buddha for sutras, my disciples sacrificed their lives to save his demonic obstacles, just like a tiger snatching a brittle bone from its mouth and revealing scales on the back of a dragon. I only hope to return to the true fruit, wash away the karma and get rid of evil, how do I know that the elder has betrayed his righteousness and is ungrateful, and has lost a piece of good karma, let alone the suffering of soap and whiteness! The bodhisattva said, "And I will listen to the reason for the whiteness." Sun Wukong treated Guanyin as a confidant sister, it was she who arranged for Tang Monk to save me, it was she who helped me through distress, and the first thing that came to mind when she was wronged was to cry to her.

Guanyin listened to the ins and outs and said, "Tang Sanzang was ordered to surrender to the west, bent on being a monk with good intentions, and never lightly injuring his life." It seems that you have immeasurable magical powers, why bother to kill many grass koans! Although Cao Kou was bad, in the end it was a personal body and should not be killed, which was different from the demon monster and the ghost spirit. That beating to death is your merit; This man beat him to death, or your unkindness. But the retreat was dispersed, and nature saved your master, and according to my public opinion, it is still your unkindness. This sounds fair, in fact, when the goldfish ate people in the Tongtian River, what did Guanyin, the master, do? However, Guanyin also comforted Sun Wukong and wanted to ease his relationship with Tang Monk. Sun Wukong will eventually return to the Scripture Collection.

Sun Wukong said, even if I am not right, I should still be guilty of the crime, should not drive me away, I hope that Guanyin chanted the loose hoop spell to remove the tight hoop. Guanyin said that I didn't have a pine hoop mantra, and Sun Wukong said I would go and read the pine hoop mantra. Guanyin kept him, kaihui looked at Tang Monk's obscurity, found that Tang Monk was about to be unlucky, and would definitely come to you, you stay with me, and when the time came, I told him to let you go back and continue to take the scriptures into positive results.

Sun Wukong stayed here for 4 days at Guanyin's sister,000 until the sand monk came over and left to go to Huaguo Mountain to find a six-eared macaque to settle accounts. The two monkeys could not distinguish between victory and defeat after fighting, and went to Guanyin to distinguish between true and false, but Guanyin could not see the true and false, and could only let Sun Wukong go to the heavenly court for help. In the end, the two monkeys came to ru here, and after talking about the ins and outs, Guanyin also came from the South China Sea.

[The public listened to him with both mouths and said it again, and the multitude could not distinguish it, but if it came, it was notified.] Just as I was about to break the path, I suddenly saw that between the clouds in the south, Guanyin came and visited my Buddha. I clapped my hands together and said, "Your Holiness Guanyin, if you look at those two practitioners, who is true or false?" The bodhisattva said, "The day before yesterday in the disciple's wasteland, I can't tell." When he went to the Heavenly Palace and the Underground Mansion, it was difficult to recognize, so he came to pray to him, and he must distinguish himself. Ru Lai smiled, "Ru and other mana are vast, and they can only read the things of Zhou Tian, they cannot read all the things of Zhou Tian, nor can they know the types of Zhou Tian." ”】

Rulai Mingming knew in the narrative of the two monkeys just now that they had been to the South China Sea, Guanyin could not distinguish between true and false, and deliberately asked Guanyin, do you see who is real and who is false, is this not to let Guanyin lose people in public? Guanyin also had no choice, but to tell the truth that he could not distinguish, especially to see Rulai, please come to discern.

Ru Lai laughed, "Ru and other mana are vast, and they can only read the things of Zhou Tian, they cannot read all the things of Zhou Tian, nor can they know the types of Zhou Tian." Although your mana is vast, your knowledge of biology is relatively lacking. By implication, you still have to continue to learn from me, so be a student for me.

Guanyin continued to consult, and only then did he explain the origin of the six-eared macaque. Then Sun Wukong killed the six-eared macaque. Sun Wukong continued to complain to Rulai that Tang Monk would not accept him and demanded that the golden hoop be removed and returned. [Ru lai said, "If you stop thinking about it, don't let it go." I teach Guanyin to send you, not afraid that he will not receive it. Haosheng protected him, and at that time the achievement returned to bliss, and Ru also sat on the lotus platform. If it comes, it gives people the feeling that he and Sun Wukong are closer, and Tang Monk is like an outsider. I asked Guanyin to send you back, tang monk that guy still dare not accept? Do a good job, and give it to you.

As soon as Guanyin heard it, he then "thanked the Holy Grace with his palm, comprehended emptiness, and rode away from the clouds", Guanyin had great eyesight. Seeing Tang Monk, Guanyin said in a blunt tone, "Tang Monk, the one who beat you the day before yesterday was the false walker Six-Eared Macaque, fortunately, rulai knowledge, has been killed by Goku. You must now take goku, along the way the magic obstacle has not been eliminated, you must have him to protect you, before you get the spirit mountain, see the Buddha to learn the scriptures, and then stop the monster. Guanyin conveyed the spirit of Rulai's instructions very well, declaring to the Tang monks that it is not sun wukong who cannot do without you, it is that you cannot do without sun wukong, and under the protection of sun wukong, you can go to the western heavens to get the true scriptures, and you are not allowed to regenerate things in the future, and you are not allowed to quarrel with Sun Wukong anymore. Everyone in the sutra group also understood, and Rulai established Sun Wukong's position as the core of the leadership of the sutra group.

But this time, Guanyin exposed his own lack of mana and knowledge, not only in front of Sun Wukong, but also humiliated by Rulai in front of the Lei Yin Temple. If this move is to remind Guanyin, I know that you are very capable, you are also very sharp, the sutra project is progressing smoothly under your management, I am very satisfied with you, but you have to remember that I am stronger than you, I know more, you still have to put yourself in the right position, honestly listen to me, what you should do must be done well, and what you should not do is not allowed to do.

At the same time, it is also to tell Sun Wukong that he will report to me directly in the future. This is only the second time that Sun Wukong has seen Rulai after he was released from prison, and Rulai has given Sun Wukong a promise to "sit on the lotus platform", giving Sun Wukong a reassurance pill, so that Sun Wukong understands who has the final say in the Western Heavens, and it also shows that Rulai has been silently paying attention to and inspecting Sun Wukong, and Sun Wukong has now passed the inspection.

Such an approach is not superfluous. To a lesser extent, guanyin embezzled the gold and forbidden two hoops given by Rulai in the sutra-taking project, and separately incorporated the red child and the black bear essence, which were full of private pockets, and there were black properties of Guanyin in both places in the Guanyin Zen Temple and the Tongtianhe, and others could not teach Guanyin, but Rulai had to teach her a lesson. To a large extent, Guanyin's power is constantly growing, and the relationship with Sun Wukong is so good, there is a suspicion of merit and high shock. Sun Wukong is the key training object hand-picked by Rulai, the future confidant, if he is closer to Guanyin and becomes a guanyin person, if he comes to toss so much, is it not to make a wedding dress for others, move a stone and drop it on his own feet? Therefore, if you come, you should knock on Guanyin and keep a certain distance from the sutra group, especially Sun Wukong.

This is exactly the case, and the interaction between Guanyin and the Sutra Group was much less in the future, and Sun Wukong never went to Guanyin for help again.

15. In the 71st, the Battle of Zhu Ziguo, Guanyin appeared again and took away the Golden Retriever. It has been 13 times since the 58th time I met Sun Wukong for the last time. Sun Wukong was still very polite when he saw Guanyin: [The walker looked back sharply, and it turned out to be Guanyin Bodhisattva, holding a pure bottle in his left hand and a willow in his right hand, sprinkling nectar to fight the fire, and the panicked walker hid the bell around his waist, that is, he fell down to worship with his palms. 】

The walker prostrated his head, "I do not know that great mercy is coming, and there is a loss of avoidance." Dare to ask the bodhisattva where he is going? ”

The bodhisattva said, "I have come to collect this monster." ”

The walker said, "What is the origin of this strangeness, dare to work hard to collect it?" ”

The bodhisattva said, "He is a golden calf that I crossed." Because the shepherd boy slept and lost his defense, this evil beast bit the iron rope and came, but he and the Zhuzi King eliminated the disaster. ”

The walker heard the words and said, "The bodhisattva said instead, after he deceived the king here, he was corrupt and bad, and he had a disaster with the king, but he said that it was a disaster. ”

The bodhisattva said, "You don't know, when King Zhu Ziguo was reigning,...... I'm here to collect demons and evils. ”

The practitioner said, "Bodhisattva, although this is such a story, but he defiled the queen, corrupted the customs, and violated the law, but he deserved to be sentenced to death." Now the bodhisattva himself came and spared him the death penalty, but spared him from living his sins. Let me beat him twenty sticks and take them with you. ”

The bodhisattva said, "Goku, since you know that I am here, you should see that I am on the spot, and spare every shot, and count your work as a demon." If he moved the stick, he was dead. ”

The practitioner did not dare to disobey, but had to pray: "Since the bodhisattva has taken him back to the sea, he must not let him descend into the human world privately. ”

The bodhisattva shouted, "Beast! Don't restore it yet, when will it be! ”

Only to see the monster roll, appear in the original body, shake the sweater, and the bodhisattva ride on. The bodhisattva looked down again and did not see the three golden bells.

The bodhisattva said, "Goku, return my bell." ”

The walker said, "Old Sun doesn't know." ”

The bodhisattva shouted, "You thief monkey! If you hadn't stolen the bell, Don't say one Goku, it would be ten, and you wouldn't dare to get close! Take it out! ”

The walker laughed and said, "I haven't seen it yet." ”

The bodhisattva said, "I have not seen it, but I will recite the Mantra of tightening the hoops." ”

The walker panicked and only taught, "Mo Nian Mo Nian!" Bells are here! ”

This is exactly: who understands the golden bell? The ringer also asked the ringer. The bodhisattva put the bell under the collar and flew high to sit. You see that his four-legged lotus flowers are full of flames, full of golden wisps bursting into the forest, and the great mercy returns to the South China Sea. 】

In this dialogue, Sun Wukong has great respect for Guanyin, and he still plays with Guanyin in the link of asking for the purple golden bell, but Guanyin has always been very serious, speaking very bluntly, and even threatening to recite the tight hoop mantra, and there is no mood to joke with Sun Wukong.

Taking the first half of the scriptures, the dialogue between Guanyin and Sun Wukong is generally relaxed and pleasant, such as Eagle Sorrow Stream, Guanyin Zen Temple, Quicksand River, Wuzhuang Temple, and Red Child' battles. Until the Battle of Tongtianhe, due to the damage to Guanyin's interests, the mood was not very good, and the tone was different from before. But in the true and false Monkey King, Guanyin faced the wronged Sun Wukong and was full of pity, and it was fine at this time. The key is that after being humiliated by Rulai in public, when it came to the Battle of Zhu Ziguo, Guanyin's tone of voice towards Sun Wukong changed significantly. In the eyes of Guanyin's sister, Sun Wukong's younger brother's status in the Western Heavens is getting higher and higher, stronger than himself.

16. The 84th time, the annihilation of France, 13 more times passed, Guanyin took the boy of good fortune to become an old lady and a child to report the letter, and after the letter was recognized by Sun Wukong, he flew away without saying a word. [The walker's fire eyes and golden eyes actually recognized the good and evil, and the old mother was holding the child, who was originally a Guanyin Bodhisattva and a virtuous boy, and fell down in a panic and prayed, shouting: "Bodhisattva, the disciple is not welcome!" Lost! The bodhisattva, a cloud of good fortune, gently lifted up, frightening Elder Tang into standing on his knees and prostrating his head. The Eight-PreceptEd Sand Monk also knelt down in panic and prayed to the heavens. For a time, the auspicious clouds were ethereal, and they went back to the South China Sea. 】

After Guanyin was seen, he didn't bother to talk to Sun Wukong, purely for the purpose of completing the task of reporting the letter.

17. On the 98th occasion, the sutra-taking group went through all kinds of hardships and hardships and arrived at the Lei Yin Monastery on Lingshan Mountain, at which time Rulai summoned [Eight Bodhisattvas, Four Vajras, Five Hundred Aras, Three Thousand Revelations, Eleven Great Yaos, and Eighteen Garans], and lined up to welcome and celebrate the successful victory of the sutra-taking project. After giving the true scriptures with words, rulai once again summoned [three thousand Buddhas, three thousand revelations, eight vajrayogini, four bodhisattvas, five hundred arhats, eight hundred bhikkhu monks, the public upasai, bhikshunis, upas, all the heavens and caves, the blessed spirit mountain, the great and small venerable monks], and collectively sent the sutra group back to the Tang Dynasty. This is the Meeting of The Bible.

There are mentions of the eight bodhisattvas and the four vajras, and the four bodhisattvas and the eight vajras, and I think the four bodhisattvas and the eight vajras should be correct.

Guarding the gate of Lingshan are the Eight Great Kongs, named and surnamed are the Wutai Mountain Secret Magic Rock Divine Power Vast SplashIng Vajra, Mount Emei Qingliang Cave Mana Immeasurable Victory to King Kong, Mount Meru Moer Cliff Pilu Shamen Hercules King Kong, Kunlun Mountain Jinxialing Not Bad King Yongju King Kong, the four of them are responsible for guarding the first mountain gate of LingShan.

There are four vajras in the second gate, and their names are not introduced in the book, they should be the four heavenly kings of holding the country, hearing more, growing, and broadening their eyes, who are responsible for guarding the four heavenly gates of the heavenly court in turn, and belong to the Buddhist system, which needs to guard the second mountain gate of the Spirit Mountain. At the second gate of the 36th Wuji National Baolin Temple, there are statues of the four heavenly kings. Every time Sun Wukong goes to heaven through the Heavenly Gate, most of them will encounter a Heavenly King on duty to guard the gate, but the 52nd time, Sun Wukong went to find Taishang Laojun, after entering the South Heavenly Gate, only the four marshals were there, there was no Heavenly King on duty, and the 51st time when Sun Wukong entered the South Heavenly Gate, the Guangmu Heavenly King and the four marshals were there. It can be seen that when the four heavenly kings are not on duty in the heavenly court, they should return to the Spirit Mountain to guard the gate.

Guarding the three gates is the "monk who makes offerings."

The four bodhisattvas should refer to Avalokiteshvara, Dashizhi Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Puxian Bodhisattva. In the list of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the 100th time, bodhisattvas include: "Nam no Guanyin Bodhisattva." Nam no Dashi to bodhisattva. Nam no Manjushri Bodhisattva. Nam no Puxian Bodhisattva. The bodhisattvas of the South No Pure Sea. Nam no Lotus Pond Sea Will Buddha Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattvas of Bliss in the Southern And Western Heavens. Nam no Three Thousand Great Bodhisattvas. Nam no five hundred Aro Great Bodhisattvas. Nam no Ji Khun I Seni Bodhisattva. Nam no Boundless Immeasurable Dharma Bodhisattva. Nam no Vajrayogini Holy Bodhisattva. Nam no Pure Altar Messenger Bodhisattva. Nam no Eight Treasures Golden Body Arhat Bodhisattva. Nam no Eight Heavenly Dragon Guangli Bodhisattva. 】

The first four bodhisattvas are more explicit, referring to a single bodhisattva, while the 5th-8th is not a single bodhisattva, but a group of bodhisattvas. So the four bodhisattvas should be right. However, the 58th mentions that Rulai was lecturing on the scriptures, and the participants were [the four bodhisattvas and the eight vajras], but later it is mentioned that Guanyin came from the South China Sea. This should be an omission by the author.

Whether it is the eight bodhisattvas or the four bodhisattvas, Guanyin is among them, and participated in the closing ceremony of the sutra-taking project throughout the process. The sutra group first took the wordless sutra, but after being exposed by the ancient Buddha, it came back and took the written sutra and left satisfied.

At this time, Guanyin suddenly said to Ru, "The person who received the golden will to seek the sutra to the eastern land has now succeeded, and has a total of fourteen years, which is 5,040 days, and there are still 8 days less, which is not in line with the number of Tibetans." I hope that my worldly dignity will give the holy monks to return to the east and turn west as soon as possible, and within eight days, they must complete the number of tibetans, and the prospective disciples will return the golden will." It means don't let them walk back to Datang on foot, send someone to send them flying back. If you come to [Daxi], you agree, and send the Eight Great Vajrayogini to send the sutra group back.

Then the group of heroes behind the scenes came and reported to Guanyin the eighty difficulties experienced by the Tang monks, guanyin said that the nine nine returned to the truth, there was still one less difficulty, let the revelation catch up with the eight great Vajra, and gave Guanyin's instructions, so the eight vajras threw the sutra group on the west bank of the Tongtian River. The old white shrew appeared, took the prayer group across the river, halfway asked The Tang monk whether he had asked for him, when could he cultivate the human body, the Tang monk did not ask, did not dare to answer, the old white shrew threw the prayer group into the water and took a cold bath. This is the eighty-first difficulty.

From this point of view, when Guanyin and Rulai sent someone to send a sutra group, they had already thought about it in their hearts, that is, to make up such a difficulty, enough to make up for eighty-one difficulties. Otherwise, why didn't you say it just now when the group hadn't left, and you said it just after the front foot of the group left.

Why do you have to create this eighty-first difficulty? The eighty difficult definitions are also quite arbitrary, and the suffering experienced by Tang Monk on the road has gone a lot, so he can just take out a plus. The main purpose is to offset the small actions of the lamp, and the eighty-first difficulty must be officially arranged, and the lamp cannot be allowed to steal the limelight. Rulai and Sun Wukong understood this and cooperated in this play.

To sum up the character of Guanyin.

Guanyin is politically exquisite, very good at pulling relations, good at uniting people, the circle of friends is very extensive, when it comes to the Bodhisattva of the South China Sea, no one says it is bad, they are all praised and treated with courtesy. He is very good at understanding the intention of the leader, can speak to the heart of the leader, and can also do things in the heart of the leader, and is a rare good subordinate. At the same time, it can also take responsibility and accomplish things, not only pulling up a team in the South China Sea, but also personally forming a scripture collection group, coordinating and helping each other on the way to the scriptures, showing superb leadership and organizational skills.

Economically, he is very financially minded, and he is well versed in the principle that the economic foundation determines the superstructure, and the South China Sea is the richest mountain in Xitian besides the headquarters Lingshan Mountain, and it also makes a lot of money through industries such as Guanyin Zen Temple and Tongtianhe. It is estimated that there are many industries elsewhere.

Mana cultivation should be said to be quite strong, but it is not the top, physical hand-to-hand combat is a short board, attack skills are insufficient, even if the magic magic weapon is discussed, the gap is obvious compared with Rulai and Maitreya. If Rulai and Maitreya are control mages, Guanyin can only be regarded as auxiliary mages, assisting in battle under the cover of meat shields, and cannot undertake the main offensive task. The shortcomings in mana determine that although Guanyin can mix a good person, everyone thinks she is good, but she does not produce the sense of awe and obedience to the first hand, not to mention that she is a woman, so it is impossible to ascend to the top of the Buddhist system, and she has been limited to the position of the first bodhisattva.

The relationship between Guanyin and Rulai is a bit awkward.

First of all, Guanyin is definitely a capable person who Rulai greatly appreciates and values, and there is no doubt about this. If you entrust such a major matter as the sutra-taking project to Guanyin, it is itself the embodiment of giving Full Trust to Guanyin. However, with the progress of the sutra-taking project, the relationship between the two, the relationship between Guanyin and the sutra-taking group, gradually underwent subtle changes.

As mentioned earlier, Maitreya is the future Buddha in Buddhism and will be Rulai's successor, but in the Battle of Xiaoleiyin Temple, Maitreya's yellow-browed boy openly turned into Rulai to deceive the sutra group, reflecting Maitreya's ambition to usurp the throne. If you are not willing to withdraw from the stage of history so early like a lamp, what you want, I can give you, but I will not give it to you, you can not grab. Who is the future Buddha, and am I not defined by the sutras? In order to contain Maitreya, there must be other successors, and when there is a competitor, Maitreya cannot care about usurping the throne.

Guanyin also looked at the fire in this regard, consciously keeping a distance from the lamp and Maitreya. For example, Guanyin's friendship range is so extensive, but she has never seen her intersect with Burning Lantern and Maitreya. However, it is a pity that although Guanyin is very good, she does not have the strength to become a successor candidate. Rulai's second apprentice, Jin Cicada, rebelled and also withdrew from the competition.

And Rulai discovered that Sun Wukong is a talent with great skills and high human feelings, which fully meets the quality requirements of becoming a successor. Therefore, Rulai continued to cultivate and identify Sun Wukong in the sutra-taking project, the more he looked at it, the more satisfied he became, the more he liked it, and even promised him the treatment of "sitting on the lotus platform" in advance in the middle of the sutra-taking project, and finally he was crowned as a fighting Buddha, and his status was higher than that of Guanyin.

Guanyin's mentality toward the sutra-taking project has undergone a process of change. From the preparation stage to the first half of the sutra taking road, Guanyin can be said to be extremely attentive, devoting himself to the sutra taking project, going to heaven and earth, saddle up before and after the horse, what the sutra group needs, Guanyin gives, the sutra group encountered difficulties, Guanyin tried to solve it.

But after the Battle of Tongtianhe, a change took place. In the Battle of Qingniujing, Sun Wukong asked Rulai for help for the first time since he was released from prison, and Rulai's words were very interesting: "Wukong, before hearing that Guanyin Venerable was liberated from Ru's body, converted to Buddhism, and Bao Tang monks came here to ask for sutras, how did you come here alone? What happened? Guanyin's incorporation of Sun Wukong into the Progressive Scripture Group was obviously instructed by Rulai, and moreover, when Rulai pressed Sun Wukong under the Five Elements Mountain, he left a message saying that someone would save him in the future, and now the mastermind behind the scenes still uses "Smell Guanyin To Liberate Ru Body"? This means that Sun Wukong, you have been out for so long, why didn't you come to report to me earlier, and wait until now?
