Lang Shunjun is a native of Hong Kong, who has loved giant pandas since she was a child, and when she grew up, she realized her childhood dream and worked as a giant panda keeper in Hong Kong Ocean Park, responsible for taking care of the giant pandas donated by the central government to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

After Hong Kong's return to the embrace of the motherland, the central government has successively presented two pairs of giant pandas from Sichuan to Hong Kong, which not only bring joy to Hong Kong citizens and tourists, but also make Sichuan and Hong Kong form a unique fate. On May 12, 2008, the sudden Wenchuan earthquake caused huge losses to the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center, and the Wolong Walnut Ping base was completely destroyed. Hong Kong, which has forged a deep friendship between giant pandas and Sichuan, decided to assist in the construction of the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center and related facilities. In May 2016, the post-disaster reconstruction of Wolong in Hong Kong was completed.

In 2015, Lang Shunjun accompanied the giant panda "Yingying" back to her hometown in Wolong, Sichuan province for a "blind date", which was her first trip to the mainland. At the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center, Lang Shunjun met the staff member Dong Chao, and the two young hearts came together because of the giant panda. Today, they have a 4-year-old son and form a happy family of three.

"The 'national treasure' made me a 'red lady.'" Lang Shunjun said, "The central government's donation of giant pandas to Hong Kong not only allows the mainland to have more emotional exchanges with the SAR, but also benefits me a lot." "With giant pandas as the medium, the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center has more and more cooperation and exchanges with Hong Kong, often sharing relevant work experience and the latest information, and the friendship between Sichuan and Hong Kong has become deeper."
