Effective June 20, 2022, embassies and consulates in Canada will adjust the general visa requirements for canada to China.

The details are as follows:

1. You can apply for a business (M) and visit (F) visa with the visa invitation letter (PU) of the relevant Chinese department. The visa invitation letter (PU) is issued by the central and state organs, the provincial foreign affairs and commerce departments, the central enterprises and the prefectural and municipal foreign affairs departments.

2. You can apply for a work (Z) visa with the "Notice of Work Permit for Foreigners" issued by the relevant departments. There is no need to submit a Visa Invitation Letter (PU).

3. Foreign family members of persons returning to work and production (including foreigners already working in China) can apply for residence (S1) and family visit (S2) visas without submitting a visa invitation letter (PU). Such family members include spouses, parents, spouse's parents, children under the age of 18.

4. Chinese citizens and foreign family members of foreigners with permanent residence status in China may apply for a visa to visit China for reunification (Q1) or family visit (Q2). Such family members include spouses, parents, spouse parents, children, child spouses, siblings, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, and grandchildren.

5. High-end talents can apply for a talent (R) visa with the "High-end Talent Confirmation Letter".

6. The above applications (except R visa) are subject to the normal payment of visa and service fees.

With effect from now on, the Chinese Embassy in Hungary will adjust the requirements for foreigners to apply for visas to China as follows:

I. Invitation Letter for Exemption from Visas for Employed Persons in China (PU)

II. Invitation Letter for Exemption from Visas for Family Members of Personnel Returning to Work and Production (PU)

Foreign family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, and parents) who have returned to work and production (including foreigners already working in China) who have come to China to resume work and resume work or visit relatives can apply for a visa with proof of kinship and other necessary documents without submitting a visa invitation letter (PU).

3. Adjust the scope of personnel going to China for humanitarian reasons

Personnel resuming work and production must hold invitation letters issued by central and state organs, provincial foreign affairs and commerce departments, central enterprises and most foreign affairs departments of municipal people's governments to apply for the corresponding type of visa. Foreign family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, and parents of spouses) who have resumed work and production (including foreigners already working in China) can apply for a visa to live or visit relatives in China with proof of family relationship, without submitting a visa invitation letter issued by the relevant government department in China.

3. Foreign family members (including spouses, parents, spouses' parents, children, children's spouses, siblings, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, and grandchildren) of Chinese citizens and foreigners with permanent residency status in China may apply for a family visit or family reunion visa on the basis of proof of kinship and other materials.

In principle, the above-mentioned visa applicants should be vaccinated with vaccines approved by the mainland or the World Health Organization for emergency use or marketing before entering the country.

All of the above types of visas should be submitted through the Lisbon Chinese Visa Application Service Center.
