Lusaka, 3 Jun (Xinhua) -- The zambian corn flour processing plant project, which was built with the assistance of the Chinese government, was delivered in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, on 3 June. Zambian Defense Minister Lu Fuma and Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Du Xiaohui attended the ceremony.
Lu Fuma said that thanks to the assistance of the Chinese government, this project is of great significance to Zambia's food security and people's well-being, which is conducive to the country's agricultural development and food self-sufficiency, benefiting the zamian people.

Du Xiaohui said that the completion and delivery of the project is another milestone event in the friendship between China and Zambia. Over the years, the Chinese government has been committed to supporting Zambia's agricultural development and food security in various forms. He looked forward to further strengthening cooperation in the agricultural field between China and Zambia in the future.
The Zambian corn flour processing plant project, which was undertaken by China Machinery Industry Construction Group Co., Ltd., was inaugurated in April 2019 and completed in January 2022. A total of three factories will be built in Lusaka to process 40 tons of corn per day and provide 50 jobs, while the two factories in the Monze region of Southern Province and the Mpicka region of Mutzinga province will process 240 tons of corn per day and each provide 250 jobs. After the handover of the project, the Chinese side will also provide technical support to the Zambia side for three years.
