The Gordon Grand Vineyards and Gordon-Charlemagne Grand Vineyards underground on the slopes of the High Mountaineering Area cover an area of 180 hectares and extend into the three statutory appellations of the towns of Aros-Gordon, Penan-Vijtres and Lado. This is the most extensive grand vineyard in Burgundy.
The highest slope in the mountainous region is planted with the Chardonnay variety of grapes, which are specially used to make Gordon-Charlemagne liquor, with an annual output of 300,000 bottles. Pinot Noir grapes are grown on the slopes beneath the Chatone vineyards, specifically for the wines of the Gauteng Grand Vineyards. These vineyards produce around 500,000 bottles of red wine per year, some bearing the official appellation of Gordon Grand Vineyards or some with the name of a smaller vineyard on the label. Only a very small number of liquors are sold on Corton Grand Cru blanc, several of which are of good quality made by LOUIS Jadot. There are many small areas where Gordon wine is produced, and the quality is uneven, so it is necessary to carefully look at the label when buying. It is recommended to store Gordon red wine and white wine for about 10 years before drinking, in order to achieve the perfect quality of aging. The stunning AUXEY-DURESSES AOC is located in the Dheune valley between Monthdlie and Meso. Red wine accounts for two-thirds of the total local wine production, most of which are marketed as bernchu village wines. The red wines here are of the early ripening type, with a rough flavor and a slightly sour taste, unless they meet a warmer year. Wines made from good vintages are indeed worthy of favor.
Generally speaking, among the liquors that bear the name osse-Duhes, the quality of the liquor is better than that of the red wine, and it is not inferior to the intermediate liquor of the neighboring Meso.
