A touching scene in the zoo! The elephant mother and daughter met again 12 years apart. The Harley Zoo in Germany recently witnessed a touching scene, a pair of elephant mother and daughter forced to separate for 12 years, and finally reunited at the zoo last Thursday, gently overlapping the trunks when they met, the scene was warm.

Born in Zimbabwe, Pori, a 39-year-old elephant, was captured at the Magdeburg Zoo in Germany in 1983 and then taken to the Berlin Zoo for breeding, during which time she gave birth to her daughter Tana in 2001, after which Tana was forced to leave the zoo and separated from her biological flesh and bones for 12 years.

Mother Pori continued to live at the Berlin Zoo, while Tana was moved to the Bergzoo Zoo in Halle, where she grew up to become a wife, giving birth to her 4-year-old granddaughter Tamika and 1-year-old granddaughter Elani. Originally thought that her mother Pori and her daughter Tana would not be able to see each other in this life, but she did not expect that by chance, her mother Pori was arranged to move to the Bergzoo Zoo, and a touching reunion scene was staged in front of everyone.

Mother and daughter met again after a gap of 12 years, and the feelings were not weak. Tana notices the arrival of her mother, Pori, and has begun to greet her with the trunk across the iron fence, and the two elephants gently overlap the trunk. The mother-daughter relationship between Pori and Tana is touching, and Pori, who has never seen each other, and his two granddaughters Tamika and Elani are also quite harmonious, and the breeders who witness this scene are quite touched.

In order to allow the Pori family to reunite, the zoo has gone to great lengths, not only hiring a team of professionals to ensure that the delivery process is foolproof, but especially in order to keep the Pori family reunited uninterrupted, and the elephant park will be temporarily closed so that they can enjoy themselves during this time.

Pori's reunion with her daughter is not actually a chance encounter, but based on the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP), which aims to allow elephants of the same ethnic group in European zoos to live in the same park and maintain the family structure of the elephants.
