Based on this foreign media report, the future evolution model that is about to be resurrected will obviously deviate from the "human design" of the previous "Evolution" in the hearts of fans, and plug-in hybrids and SUVs will be its main theme. Meanwhile, the Outlander PHEV Evolution concept model was originally scheduled to be released at the Tokyo Motor Show in October this year, but due to the cancellation of the show, the car's debut has been postponed to June 2022.

Foreign media said that at present, it is not certain whether the new Outlander PHEV Evolution can finally be mass-produced, or only the concept car launched by Mitsubishi to promote the return of the Rallyart brand. Mitsubishi officials have not disclosed more information about the car at this time, but it is certain that the car will get a larger battery and multiple motors compared to the regular version of the new Outlander PHEV.

Leaving aside the Evolution model, even the information of the ordinary version of the new OutlandER PHEV officially did not disclose too much, only saying that "the new generation of Outlander PHEV will have stronger power and a larger battery pack." According to foreign media speculation, the new Outlander PHEV will be equipped with dual motors, and it is likely to use dual motors in the rear axle, so as to achieve the three-motor drive of the whole vehicle and the torque vectoring control of the rear wheels.
In the fuel-powered segment, due to the alliance between Mitsubishi and Renault-Nissan, the new Outlander PHEV may receive a 2.0T engine from the Infiniti QX50, with a maximum power of 200 kilowatts, and the combined power of the motor is expected to reach 300 kilowatts or 350 kilowatts, with an acceleration time of 0-100 km / h or about 5 seconds.
According to the Japanese media Best Car, any performance upgrade will be accompanied by a "radical appearance", so its shape will be easy to connect with a "Ralliart performance machine". Mitsubishi has previously hinted that the SUCCESSOR to LANCER Evolution could use hybrid or pure electric drive, and is expected to adopt the body form of an SUV.

Back in 2017, Mitsubishi released a concept car called e-Evolution, which is equipped with three motors and a sporty shape. An official report released earlier in 2021 suggests that the concept car will go into mass production later this year, and its appearance will not affect the launch of other Evolution models.
