Mount Kenya, located in central Kenya, is near the equator to the north. It is the second highest peak in Africa, and the main peak is the Neleon Peak, which is 5199 meters above sea level. The summit is covered with snow all year round, and there are more than 10 Xiaoice rivers that extend to 4300 meters above sea level, of which the Lewis Glacier and Tyndall Glacier are the largest. The western and northern slopes of the low mountains are grasslands, and the eastern and southern slopes are low-tree and high-grass vegetation; there are coffee gardens and sisal gardens below 2000 meters; dense forests at 1500-3000 meters; and bamboo forests are mostly in the forest belt. Above the forest belt is Mount Kenya National Park, with an area of 588 square kilometers, with large animals such as buffalo and elephants. In the northwestern foothills there is the Nanuki Mountaineering Base.
