In April, Amazon signed a multibillion-dollar contract with three different companies to help launch The Kuiper Project satellites. The three companies are Blue Origin in Bezos, United Launch Alliance and Arianespace in Europe.

Amazon first disclosed the "Kuiper Project" in 2019, and media sources analyzed that this was Amazon's response and competition to Musk and the "Starlink" network of its space exploration technology company.

Space Exploration Technologies' Starlink program already has about 2,000 satellites in orbit. The Federal Communications Commission has approved the company's launch of a total of 12,000 satellites. By contrast, Amazon has yet to launch any satellites.
