On the morning of March 25, Jin Xianglong was preparing to go out to buy vegetables, to buy some fresh fish and shrimp near the community, just arrived at the gate of the community, was stopped by the security guards, and the community entered a state of sealing and control. By the end of the night, the exact news came into Jin Xianglong's ears: from the next day, the community began to test nucleic acid for all employees.
"The hard work of the medical staff touched me and made me have the urge to create." After the test, Jin Xianglong found that most of the creative materials were left in the studio, and there were still some small black and white plates left at home, which were suitable for carving some small prints. It took a week to create two prints, "Nucleic Acid Day – March 26, 2022" and "Spring Has Blossomed".
These are two works of virtual reality. In "Nucleic Acid Day – March 26, 2022", the picture is close to the street, no traffic, no pedestrians, a quiet; in the middle of the picture is a closed gate, and on the inside sits a row of water village houses with Jiangnan characteristics. Between the shadows of the gate grille, it can be seen that the "great white" is exposed and is busy nervously. In the background of the picture, the "three-piece set" of Landing Jiazui stands, which is the symbol of Pudong and Shanghai.
"Spring Warmth Has Blossomed" is more like a good wish of Jin Xianglong: on the branches of the magnolia, he depicts a mask fluttering in the wind, as if "competing with the flowers of Shanghai" to "bloom" and calling for spring to return to the earth.
In the days that followed, medical staff from all over the country rushed to the aid of Shanghai, and party members and volunteers in various residential areas in Shanghai stepped on the front line and contributed their own strength, which made Jin Xianglong feel excited. In mid-April, the print "Tribute to the Great White" was completed. In the picture, there are no specific scenes such as nucleic acid and sanitize, leaving only the front and back of the two "big whites", and presented as a black background of yin carving and a white background of yang carving. One positive, one negative, one black, one white, one yin, one yang, reflecting the rhythm and dynamics of the published painting, and the rough and unrestrained techniques make the picture come alive. In the picture, there is also a branch of white magnolia running through the yin and yang, which also adds more connotation to the "Shanghai refueling" behind the "great white".
Living in Pudong, the heart is related to the world. On April 16, female astronaut Wang Yaping Shenzhou 13 flight crew triumphantly returned. After the successful landing, as soon as she got out of the cabin, she smiled and told the reporter who interviewed her: "The mother who picked the stars is back!" After seeing his daughter who was thinking about it day and night, Wang Yaping handed her a golden "star" and fulfilled her romantic promise to pick stars for her daughter. Because of this news, Jin Xianglong created a series of prints in just one week: "Greeting the Hero", "Looking Forward to Comrades-in-Arms", "Daughter Waiting", "Accurate Landing", "Cabin Inspection", "Coming Out of the Cabin", "Hero Triumph", "Mother Hug". These 8 prints record an extraordinary history, which is also the "poetry and far away" in the heart of this Pudong artist.
During his stay at home, Jin Xianglong also created two sketches of chromatic prints for national and municipal theme creation activities, namely "Shanghai Library East Pavilion" and "A Corner of the Expo", "If selected, I will return to the studio to complete it after unsealing." "In addition, he intends to create a series of black-and-white prints depicting the sights of Pudong." Yangshan Deep Water Port, Pudong Library, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai China Maritime Museum... As long as my body allows, I will try to create. ”
