When you think of today's French attackers, who do you think of? Griezmann, Corman or Benzema? Joann. The name Gurkuf seems to have been forgotten.
Born on 11 July 1986 in Lorient, France, Gurcuf became famous in Rennes, Ligue 1, when he was known as "Zidane's successor". IN 2006 AC Milan brought him under his command, but here he spent two years of depression, scoring just two goals in 36 games and most of the time coming off the bench, before AC Milan loaned him to Bordeaux.
The peak of Gurkuf's career came in 2009. In Bordeaux, he and Moroccan striker Sharma played a very tacit role on the field, winning the Ligue 1 title for Bordeaux and helping Bordeaux to beat Bayern in the 09/10 season, eliminating Juve to reach the round of sixteen. It was because of his outstanding performances in Bordeaux that he was called up to the national team and was selected by the former Ligue 1 giants Lyon.
Gurkuf's big picture view is very open, the foot technique is delicate, and he has a good long-range shooting kung fu. Unfortunately, injuries are destroying him like other football talents. During his five years in Lyon he suffered a fractured left foot and spent most of his time with injuries. Finally in 2015 he returned to Rennes.
Shortly after returning to Rennes, his father, Gurcuf Sr., coincidentally became rennes manager. Joan has also become the core of the team, but unfortunately the light is no longer there. Will Gurkuf, who is about to turn 31, still have the second spring of his career?
