Tenhag did not come to Manchester United and faced a power struggle! Supporting Longnick's friend as a director, the top level opposed

Tenhag will not officially take charge of Manchester United until the end of the season, but he has already faced a high-level game before joining Old Trafford. According to the British media, because of the selection of directors, Tenhag and Lonnick had a conflict with the Manchester United board (loggerheads).

Both Tenhag and Lonnick want United to invite Paul Mitchell, a well-known director of European football, to join the club in charge of transfer trading and scouting management. Last week, Manchester United debut scout Jim Basil and global scouting director Marcel Butt both left the club, with Tenhag and Ronnick arguing that Mitchell was the right replacement.

Longnick believes That United's reinforcement system needs to be reformed, and Mitchell has a close relationship with him, and the two have worked together at Red Bull Leipzig. Tenhag also "strongly recommended" United to hire Mitchell to help the club make a complete rebuild.

Mitchell was a former midfielder who played for Wigan Athletic and Milton Keynes, but was forced to retire at the age of 27 due to injury. But he transformed into a scout at Milton Keynes and eventually succeeded in the directorial field, having worked in Southampton, Tottenham, Leipzig and now Monaco, where he was involved in the introduction of the likes of Mane, Ali, Nkunku, Son Heung-min and Trippier, excelling at building great teams. Mitchell joined Monaco in 2020 and the team is currently fourth in Ligue 1. Recently, the British media rumored that Chelsea was also interested in inviting Mitchell to serve as technical director after the club completed the acquisition.

While the 40-year-old Mitchell had a successful time at the Stade Louis II, he is said to be willing to leave in the summer and Manchester United is in his hometown, so if the Red Devils issue an invitation, Mitchell may be happy to accept it. Earlier this year, Mitchell returned to his hometown to visit relatives and watched football with Ronnick, which sparked rumors. As he has worked with Pochettino in Southampton and Tottenham, he was once considered a harbinger for the Argentine coach to coach Manchester United.

Now, Uncle Bo has lost to Tenhag, but the latter is equally happy to work with Mitchell. But the proposal was opposed by Manchester United's board. Florian Plettenberg, a Football journalist for Sky Sports, revealed that "other decision makers" were said to be making any moves against the club to hire Mitchell.

This is not surprising, given that United's management is now saturated, with football director John Muttaf and technical director Darren Fletcher in charge of recruitment, negotiating director Matt Judge in charge of transfer negotiations, and Ronnick as a football adviser next season.

"I think this decision is very, very positive." Schmeichel explained, "But it's clear to everyone that there's a lot that needs to be done at Manchester United. The whole football department needs to be restructured, the way we think about how things should work, everything needs to be rethought. Announcing a new manager is the first decision that needs to be made, as it is the first step in the right direction. Honestly, it's a tough job, whether it's Tenhag, or anyone else, so it's like betting. I wish him all the best and I hope he can help in rebuilding Manchester United."
