It's a bumpy road for GT Racing 7 (Gran Turismo 7). The game was successfully released and received commercial acclaim, but then drew a backlash from fans over many issues such as microtransactions. Developer Polyphony Digital said it would work to address players' concerns, and the subsequent updates have tweaked some of the content in the game.
Now, more updates will follow. GT Racing 7 producer Kazunori Yamauchi has hinted at several new cars before the game's update. Next week's update will add three new cars to the game. Details about which cars will be added will be released in the coming days.
In a tweet, the producer and former pro racing driver showed off side silhouettes of 3 new cars with the headline: "Updated next week." ”
As part of a public apology for a series of disastrous updates that will add new vehicles and tracks. As compensation for recent problems, Polyphony last month compensated all players with 1 million in-game credits, or about $15 if purchased through microtransactions.
Kazunori Yamauchi also said the studio is working on a longer-term update that will further change the game as it "evolves into a real-time service." These include increasing the payout value of limited-time rewards, increasing online time trials, and enabling players to sell cars to earn in-game points.
GT Racing 7 is scheduled for server maintenance on April 25, which will likely include preparing for a new update. GT Racing 7 is available on PS5 and PS4.
