GT Racing 7 became Sony's lowest-rated game among Metacritic players

Due to the recent long maintenance of GT Racing 7 and the game's adjustments to microtransactions, it became Sony's lowest-rated game ever played by a player on the Metacritic website.

As of press time, the game has a player rating of just 2.3/10, which is lower than every game that has been released by PlayStation Studios, Sony Interactive Entertainment, SCEA, SCEE, and SCEJ in the last 27 years.

Most of the bad reviews GT Racing 7 received were released on or after March 17. At the time, developer Polyphony Digital released a patch that reduced the rewards for completing races in the game, making it harder for players to unlock new cars without kryptonite. According to the analysis, it may take nearly 20 hours for players to earn enough money in the game to buy one of the most expensive cars; if krypton gold, the real money required to buy some of the cars in GT Sport 7 is about eight times the price they cost in GT Sport.

Producer Ichinobu Yamauchi said he wanted users to "experience more cars and exciting races even without microtransactions," but at the same time he also believed that "vehicle pricing is an important factor in expressing its value and rarity, and it is very important to link it to real-world prices."
