During last year's National Day holiday, the Lighthouse Library was rated as one of the popular "new" attractions typical of 10 cities.
At the end of last year, the Yantian District Library solicited "tower keepers" from all over the city. On April 23, at the world book day Yantian Branch venue, the results of the selection of the first batch of wisdom study rooms "reading tower keepers" were announced, and liu Leyang, Hu Yan and Liang Dan accepted the appointment letter of "tower keepers" and solemnly swore an oath.
It is understood that the "tower keeper" will obtain the exclusive reader card issued by the Yantian District Library and the wisdom study (365 books can be borrowed for a period of one year). Next, they will assist in the daily business work such as reading promotion activities, reader satisfaction surveys, information consultation, and service promotion in the smart study room. In addition, they will also assist in formulating the rules and regulations of the smart study business, and be responsible for the implementation, as well as supervising the operation of the smart study and proposing suggestions for improvement.
Every year, the reading tower keeper will be evaluated by a third party in the society, and the citizens who have been elected as the reading tower keeper for 3 consecutive years will become the honorary branch director of the wisdom study.

Liang Dan is one of the "tower keepers" who were hired this time. She introduced that she has long been associated with the Yantian District Library and the "Lighthouse". She has been working in Yantian for more than 20 years. In 2016, her Higer Logistics company set up a library within the company, and on a daily basis, the company often held some "reading meetings" where employees shared their reading experience with each other.
Later, the library within the enterprise established contact with the district library. "Knowing that we have such a library inside the enterprise and doing a good job, Director Yin of the Yantian District Library came to visit us. We also informed her of some of our book needs. Since then, the district library has allocated more than 100 books to us. The ownership of the books belongs to the Yantian District Library, but our staff can borrow them freely here. Liang Dan introduced that at present, the Hagrid Library includes books donated by corporate executives and employees, as well as the accompanying books of the district library, with a collection of more than 500 books, and employees can borrow books from the library during lunch breaks.
In fact, one of the secrets of the high-quality development of public library business in Yantian District is to widely seek cross-border integration. Hagrid Library is an early private library that had exchanges and cooperation with Yantian District Library. On April 23, three social cooperation branches were born in Yantian District: Sha Tau Kok Community Red Station Branch, Yantian Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Party and Group Service Center Branch, and Beishan Industrial Zone Party and Group Service Center Branch.
