In the afternoon of the same day, the launching ceremony of the 8th "Zhu Ziqing Reading Festival" in Yangzhou was held in the Municipal Library. From April this year to April next year, Yangzhou will highlight the main line of work of publicizing and implementing the 20th National Congress of the Party, and hold more than 1,000 activities in 13 categories in 4 categories with the theme of "Reading a New Era and Pursuing Dreams and a New Journey" to enhance the high-quality development of reading for the whole people. Zhang Changjin, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, director of the Publicity Department and head of the Municipal Leading Group for Reading Activities for the Whole People, attended the launching ceremony.
In accordance with the relevant requirements of epidemic prevention and control, as well as the change of reading habits of the majority of residents, this year's "Zhu Ziqing Reading Festival" adopts a combination of online and offline methods to promote reading.
At the launching ceremony, 68 advanced models of the 2020-2021 Municipal Reading "Book Fragrance Series" were commended. The Municipal Reading Office for All recommended 12 good books determined by the Provincial Reading Office for All to residents online, held an online collection of works on the theme of "Meet on the Cloud and See Spring", and the Municipal Library held an online activity of "You Choose Books, I Pay" and the online activity of the "Himalayas" platform "Yangtu Lecture Hall".
This year's "Zhu Ziqing Reading Festival" will be led around the theme, city-county linkage, and key groups. Throughout the year, it will organize and carry out the publication publicity and recommendation activities of "Welcoming the Twenty Great Books and Fragrant New Chapters", the series of reading activities on the theme of "Building a New Era of Meritorious Service, Youth's Outstanding Responsibility", and the exhibition and sales activities of the Yangzhou Branch of the 12th Jiangsu Book Fair. A total of 443 reading activities were held in various counties (cities, districts) and functional areas. Continue to promote the "seven advances" project of reading for the whole people (into the countryside, into the community, into the campus, into the township streets, into the enterprises, into the organs, into the family), and take the protection of the elderly and the promotion of reading for young people as the focus of the reading festival.
Zhang Changjin said that Yangzhou has a long history and a collection of humanities, with a continuous cultural context and a fragrance of books passed down from generation to generation.
