Reading is a joy for the intellect. Su Shi wrote in the "Title West Forest Wall": "Horizontal view into the mountain side into a peak, far and near the height is different. "It seems to be written that the peaks of Lushan Mountain are stacked with greenery, but it is actually the result of expressing the feelings of life. Reading is the best way to absorb the indirect experience of famous teachers. When we meditate together, how much thought and enlightenment does the gains and losses, successes and failures of others, the rise and fall of dynasties, and the glory and destruction of dynasties leave us with? Reading books, let us learn to abandon absorption, learn dialectical thinking, understand: life can not only seek and then forget the necessary retreat, between advance and retreat is a philosophy; life can not only seek to gain and forget the necessary loss, between gain and loss is a realm. The process of reading is a pleasant journey. Books give people inspiration, give people lessons, especially in the application of learning, she makes us excited and happy, thinking and wisdom, she makes our thoughts in line with the times, and becomes a thinker and practitioner who never falls behind and keeps pace with the times.
Reading is the joy of freedom. There is no higher state of man than the freedom of reason. Reading can be standing, can be relied on, can be sat, can be lying down, this is the freedom of form. Reading books can make your mind open the floodgates, expand the space of thinking, travel through the tunnel of time, go up and down thousands of years, traverse tens of thousands of miles, can talk with the ancients, can discuss with the comers, this is the freedom of the soul. Life is not satisfactory, I am willing to always think about the joy of one or two, and reading is an important part of my one or two happiness. Brew a cup of tea, just a light, intoxicated reading, you can drink with Li Bai, you can also chat with Dongpo; you can change the ending for Jia Baoyu's fate, and you can discuss the black hole problem with Hawking; it can be both a release of sensibility and a return of reason; you can both shoot the case and criticize the scolding woman. At this moment, the free soul is full of wings, can fly over the mountains and oceans, burn the fences and barriers, there are no rules, no frames, only the light of thought illuminated in the middle of the night. If you can meet one or two friends, just read the same book, have the same or different feelings, in the debate and dispute, feel more vivid. Reading is the process of communication between the reader and the author, the process of letting the soul fly freely.
Reading is a joy to nourish the heart. Here to cultivate the heart, I specifically refer to cultivating confidence and nourishing temperament. Reading makes us polite, self-respecting, confident, and self-motivated, and can correct our mistakes and improprieties, so as to draw strength and get back on the road. Through reading and practicing, we can have a firm and correct attitude towards life, whether successful or not, fortunate or unfortunate, we can not forget the form, sadness does not lose attitude, maintain the integrity and dignity of being a person, maintain a positive posture and confidence. Mr. Wang Guowei, a modern Confucian, issued the following exclamation in "Words and Sayings on Earth": "Those who become great undertakings and university inquirers in ancient and modern times must pass through three realms: 'Last night the west wind withered the bi tree. Alone on the tall building, looking at the end of the world', this first realm also. 'The belt of clothing gradually widens and there is no regret in the end, and the people of Izzania are haggard', this second realm also. The multitudes sought him out a thousand times. Suddenly looking back, the man was in the middle of the lights', this third realm also. "I think that poetry articles are static things, readers are dynamic people, and readers can understand the poetry articles they read according to their own character, knowledge, temperament and realm, or they can be given a more magnificent righteousness and a higher artistic conception. This is both active reading and active reading, both related to the mood and momentum. It is precisely because Wang Guowei has an elegant state of mind and a majestic momentum that he has given the beautiful poetry to the three necessary realms for becoming a great cause and a university inquirer.
It has been said that there are three kinds of spiritual enjoyment of the king: one is a sense of accomplishment; the other is a degree of freedom; and the third is a follower. I think it is not difficult to do these three things, as long as you are honest and diligent - because although you do not have the success of the king's business, there is always a career to do, although there is no freedom of royal power, but there is freedom of body and mind, although there are no subjects to follow, but there must be friends, popularity, and may also have admirers, "no one in the world knows the king", so everyone can be a king, no one needs to be inferior, no one needs to be proud. Keep a habit of reading, keep a high faith, and you are your own king!
The previous discussion is about the pleasure of reading the book of words, in fact, the pleasure of people and practices who savor the book of words is more direct. By learning from the teachers, classmates, friends and colleagues around us, and from social practice, sometimes we can achieve more with less, and we can also gain freedom, wisdom and happiness. This may echo the "Mingmingde, close to the people, stop at the supreme good" of the way of constantly surpassing oneself and being kind, which is the real way of reading, the way of learning and the road of life.
