Recently, according to the LinkedIn page of the employees of the US VR game studio First Contact Entertainment, the studio is currently developing an unpublished PSVR 2 game.
Shabestari is the game director of First Contact Entertainment and has previously worked on Firewall: Zero Hour and Solaris Offworld Combat. On his LinkedIn page, Shabestari listed the aforementioned games, and then also listed "Unpublished Games (PSVR 2)."
Last February, Sony acknowledged in the PlayStation blog that the PSVR 2 is in development, and the news broke out about the PSVR 2. Extrapolating from time, the PSVR 2 project is likely to still be in the development phase.
It is reported that "Firewall Zero Hour" was released in 2018, is a PSVR exclusive game, only 4 days after the release of the top of the PSVR August download list. Solaris OffWorld Combat is a game released in 2021 that lands on Oculus Quest, Rift S, and PSVR platforms.
I wonder if it's possible for the studio to produce a sequel to Firewall that will be released as an exclusive game for PSVR 2, or, if it's not a sequel to Firewall, maybe the game is just a new IP for the headset, available at or shortly after the headset is released.
In addition to First Contact Entertainment, a growing number of developers have been confirmed to be working on projects for PSVR 2, such as nDreams, Coatsink, and Cyan. It has also been confirmed that some PSVR 2 game projects are based on Unreal Engine 5.
