On the morning of April 18, Shanghai held a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, and Tian Liang, chief physician of the Institute of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control and the Department of Disinfection and Infection Control of the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, gave a detailed introduction to the common disinfection misunderstandings.
How should home and office be properly eliminated? Everyone has stockpiled some disinfection supplies, how to store them safely? How long is the shelf life of commonly used disinfection supplies?
Tian Liang introduced that there are several principles to be followed in carrying out disinfection of home and office places:
First, the principle of cleaning as the main and disinfection as a supplement: under normal circumstances, environmental cleaning work is done well, and disinfection of links and objects that are really risky should be carried out under the premise of completing cleaning.
Second, the principle of physical methods as the mainstay and chemical methods as the supplement: priority is given to the use of disinfection methods including window ventilation, mechanical ventilation, heating and boiling, and sunlight exposure.
Third, the principle of combining preventive disinfection with disinfection at any time: do a good job of disinfection of various items, elevators, handrails, toilets, etc. every day, 1-2 times a day. In the case of pollution, disinfect at any time, and do a good job of hand cleaning and hygiene at any time.
Fourth, the principle that the intensity of disinfection is consistent with the level of risk: the frequency of disinfection of items that are in frequent contact can be higher, the disinfection concentration of seriously polluted objects should be appropriately increased, and the disinfection time should be appropriately extended.
Fifth, do a good job of personal protection when disinfecting, not only to prevent pathogen infection, but also to prevent the stimulation and damage of disinfectant to people.
There are several common disinfection myths:
First, spray disinfectants on vegetables and fruits - under normal circumstances, the outer packaging of vegetables and fruits can be disinfected, and the vegetables and fruits themselves only need to be cleaned, and it is not recommended to use chemical disinfectants to disinfect them so as not to affect food safety and taste. If there is a real need for disinfection, you can use a disinfectant with vegetables and fruits on the record, soak it for 10-30 minutes according to the concentration on the instructions, and rinse with clean water to remove the residual disinfectant.
Second, the higher the concentration of disinfectant, the better - the use of disinfectant according to the concentration of the corresponding object in the instructions for correct configuration. The concentration of disinfectant is not as high as possible, and high concentrations of disinfectant usually have more corrosive, irritating and other side effects, and the amount of work to remove residues will be greater.
Third, spray disinfectants on people and clothes - generally speaking, the probability of personal coats carrying the new crown virus is small; secondly, when sprayed directly on the human body with chemical disinfectant, it will cause irritation and damage to people, and at the same time, because the spraying time is too short, the amount of spraying is too small, and the disinfection effect cannot be played.
Fourth, the use of humidifiers indoors for "preventive air disinfection" - this way on the one hand, the disinfection effect is difficult to guarantee, on the other hand, the crowd is easily injured by disinfectants, such as respiratory irritation, burns and allergies, which is also a misunderstanding.
During the epidemic period, everyone may have stockpiled some disinfection supplies, and when storing disinfectants, they should pay attention to safe storage, sealing, and protecting from light. Disinfectants should not be placed in bedrooms, kitchens, etc. If there are children in the family, it should also prevent the children from taking and eating by mistake.
Commonly used disinfection products, before opening, the shelf life is usually about 2 years. After opening, alcohol-based disinfectants are recommended to be used within one month, and other disinfectants are recommended to be used within two months. If the disinfectant is prepared and diluted, it is recommended to use it on the same day.
