Real nuclear bomb-class computer! Fallout fans make mini-nuclear bomb shape computers

Fallout Collector is a loyal Fallout fan focused on collecting impressive memorabilia for the post-nuclear warfare RPG series. He recently tried to build a PC inside the plastic mini-bomb that came with Fallout: Anthology released in 2015. Originally, it was used to hold the DVD that came with the anthology, but it turned out to be large enough to accommodate a computer.

Fallout Collector chose a small, low-power system, so it requires fewer modifications to the chassis. He reinstalled NUC (Intel launched a mini PC with a particularly compact motherboard) into a new enclosure. Fallout Collector modified the plug-in for securing the game in the cradle to install the motherboard, set up a power supply at the bottom of the chassis, and designed a cut-out hole for the IO port on the side.

The end result is that the core components of the system are left under the nose of the bomb, and its main body houses the power supply and cables. The Fallout Collector installs a fan at the warhead above the motherboard and drills holes to allow airflow through. He also repurposed the mini-bomb's sound buttons as power switches. As a final modification, he modified the BIOS to display a RobCo boot image at startup.

For now, it's okay to run some games under the Fallout Collector build computer. While Fallout 3 may cause problems with heat dissipation, New Vegas and Roll 5 can stabilize 30 frames and have acceptable heat on the Nuclear Bomb Computer, while also handling the 2D Fallout series effortlessly.

Fallout Collector wasn't quite happy with the performance of building the computer: he wanted to make it run on Fallout 3, really enhancing it by improving the system's thermal performance, or plugging in a higher-end or newer NUC.
