The Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery of the Second Hospital of Zhejiang University is a key clinical specialty of the National Health Commission, the first batch of doctoral degrees in the country, and one of the important birthplaces of surgery in mainland China. Thoracic Surgery
The Department of Thoracic Surgery of the Second Hospital of Zhejiang University is one of the largest thoracic surgery departments in Zhejiang Province, with an independent intensive care unit. The Department of Thoracic Surgery currently has a total of 90 beds in 4 wards. The annual volume of surgery is more than 6,000, of which minimally invasive surgery accounts for more than 90%. The number of surgeries ranks among the top 15 in the country, and the number of outpatient visits exceeds 80,000. There are 32 doctors in thoracic surgery, including 7 professors (chief physicians), 8 deputy chief physicians, 2 doctoral supervisors and 1 master's supervisor, and each year recruits doctoral/master's students from various medical colleges across the country and trainees from various hospitals around the country. Thoracic Surgery is one of the first nationally certified clinical specialist training bases for thoracic surgery.
