Although there are no blood vessels on the mucosa of the tongue, the properties of the mucosa allow nearby blood vessels to extend to the mucosa, so that there is no risk of destroying the blood vessels during surgery. Moreover, the mucous membrane of the tongue has been in a humid environment for a long time, with strong anti-infectiveness and relatively thickness, which is a very good "pipe material", and the amount used only needs to be a small piece, which has no impact on the function of the tongue. This technology is the first of its kind in China, but there are not many doctors who can master it at present.

Nowadays, hypospadias is generally found at birth physical examination or when the child is young, but the success rate of the first surgery of hypospadias in China is generally only about 30%, and the international report is only 60%-70%. After years of clinical surgical research and a variety of innovative methods, Professor Yu Jianjun's team has now increased the success rate of the first surgery to more than 90%!
Last year, he also operated on a 22-year-old boy who had undergone seven or eight surgeries and the reconstructed urethra was available, but there was a "hole" in the urethra that could not be repaired. Professor Yu Jianjun finally found the root cause of the hole that could not be repaired, and "repaired" the "hole" for him through innovative surgical methods. This year, the boy successfully entered graduate school and made a girlfriend.
Experts remind that when the boy is born, parents should pay attention to whether his genitals are abnormal, one can see whether there is an abnormal location of the urethral orifice, the normal urethral orifice should be on the head of the penis, but the urethral orifice of the patient with hypospadias is on the path of the proximal end of the normal urethral oriferal to the perineum, the closer the urethral opening position is to the scrotum or perineum, the more serious the degree of hypospadias; the second can see whether the penis has downward curvature.
In addition, Professor Yu Jianjun said that according to the follow-up findings in recent years, among children with hypospadias, even if the surgery was successful as a child, most of them will still have developmental abnormalities after entering puberty. "In layman's terms, there should be cavernous bodies on the normal urethra, puberty comes, the cavernous body and the penis develop together, and the urethra will be extended, but the repaired urethra does not have cavernous body, it cannot be extended, which is equivalent to 'the sewers are short again', which requires repair surgery again."
