Chen Ruolin, a native of Nantong, Jiangsu Province, had an accident at home when she was three years old, her father was seriously ill after her parents divorced, and her brother settled abroad with her mother, so Chen Ruolin grew up with her grandparents in her childhood.
When she was young, her health was not very good, and her grandparents often took her for running and exercising. Chen Ruolin grew up with slender limbs and taller than her peers, and her grandparents sent her to the local sports school to learn to swim when she was four years old.
Here, she met the first coach peak in her life, and after a while, under the advice of the coach, Chen Ruolin began diving training.
In 1997, Chen Ruolin went to primary school, but she also had to go to the sports school every day to practice diving, although she was tired of skills, she had to take care of training and learning, but Chen Ruolin's academic performance has been very good, and diving has maintained a high standard.
In the same year, the 8th National Games was held in Shanghai, Chen Ruolin's family came to the scene to watch the competition, when she saw the diver flipping in the air heroic posture, after making a variety of difficult skills, the interest in diving became more intense, and her heart also secretly planted the seed of the champion.
For her dream of diving, Chen Ruolin trained harder, showed amazing perseverance, and she got up for physical exercises when the genius was blinded.
In this way, day after day of training, Chen Ruolin's physical fitness is also growing day by day, and it was not long before she was favored by the sports school in Jiangsu Province and became a short-term trainee.
In 1999, Jiangsu Province held a children's diving competition, Chen Ruolin made sufficient preparations for the ranking in this competition, but the weather was unpredictable, and when it was only a month before the competition, Chen Ruolin was accidentally injured during a training session, and the right elbow joint was seriously dislocated.
In order to recover as soon as possible, the instructor forcibly restored her arm using traditional orthopedic surgery in Chinese medicine, but the pain was unbearable even for adult men.
In the process, Chen Ruolin tore her heart and lungs in pain, and the screams made her grandparents who visited her burst into tears. Fortunately, in the end, Chen Ruolin not only participated in the diving competition as scheduled, but also achieved the fourth place result, which also made her an official member of the Jiangsu Provincial Sports School.
In 2003, Chen Ruolin ushered in the first turning point in her life, at the age of 12, she won three consecutive gold medals in the National Children's Diving Competition, and then won the fifth place in the 10-meter diving event at the National Diving Championships a year later.
After training for the national team for two years, Chen Ruolin replaced Yuan Peilin as a substitute for the 2006 Diving World Cup women's doubles competition.
In that competition, she and her partner Jia Tong won the double women's 10m platform championship through tacit cooperation and excellent diving skills. Selected for the national team at the age of 12 and won the world championship at the age of 14, Chen Ruolin began her road to the championship.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 16-year-old Chen Ruolin participated in the competition as an official athlete. At a young age, she was destined to be questioned for competing on such a scale, but she turned those doubts into the motivation of her own competition.
Athletes need to maintain their weight before the competition, in order to compete at their best, she has not eaten dinner for nearly a year, and her intake for breakfast and Lunch should be strictly controlled.
A year of diet and training brought her to her peak, and in the Olympic games, she and her partner Wang Xin won the double 10-meter platform championship.
