Last Wednesday, Apple officially announced that this year's WWDC conference will be held from June 6 to 11 Pacific Time (June 7 to 12, Beijing time), when the new iOS 16, iPadOS 16, WatchOS 9, tvOS 16 and the new Mac OS and other systems will meet with us.
According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, this year's iOS 16 will usher in a major update, and improvements include a new notification system and health tracking capabilities.
Mark Gurman said: "On iOS, I would like to see some quite significant enhancements, including updates to notifications and new health tracking features. I don't expect a refreshing change in the iOS interface, after all, it hasn't changed much since iOS7 a decade ago. But iPadOS may bring a new multitasking interface. At the same time, Apple watchOS may make major upgrades to its motion and health tracking capabilities."
That is to say, this year's iOS 16 will continue the design style of iOS 15 in the overall UI, mainly focusing on updates in terms of functions to further enhance the user experience.
In addition to iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, Mark Gurman previously revealed that this year will be the biggest change in apple Watch lineup, and three new watches will be launched later this year.
Mark Gurman also stressed that apple is unlikely to fully launch a mixed reality headset in June. But he was told that the beta version of iOS 16 (codenamed Sydney) was full of introductions to the headset and its interactions with the iPhone.
This indicates that the headset will be launched within the iOS 16 cycle, which began in June and will last until the launch of iOS 17 in the fall of 2023. In terms of hardware, Mark Gurman expects Apple to have two new Macs in the middle or early second half of the year. One of them could be the new MacBook Air. Meanwhile, new Mac Pro and iMac Pro models are in development.
