According to public information, Guo Ping graduated from the Department of Medicine of Anhui South Medical College in 1978 and served as the director of the Cadre Department. In 1999, he obtained the qualification of chief physician. In October 2007, he was hired as an adjunct professor at Anhui Medical University. He was rehired after retiring in 2013.

Guo Ping, born in 1953, worked in the radiology department of Tongling People's Hospital at the age of 17, and served as the director of the cadre ward at the age of 43.

Guo Ping witnessed the growth of Tongling People's Hospital, from the creation of the top three hospitals to the top three hospitals. In 2013, Guo Ping was rehired by the hospital after retirement, and only had one day a week to sit in the clinic.
