Chen Shirong, born in August 1957, is a native of Qianxian County, Shaanxi Province. Associate Professor of Shaanxi Normal University, engaged in teaching and research of physical chemistry. He is currently a member of the Shaanxi Poetry Society, a member of the Shaanxi Poetry Library and Shaanxi Volume, a member of the Calligraphy and Painting Society of Shaanxi Normal University, a contracted artist of the "Famous Lecture Hall" column of the Ink Danqing Column of China Education Television Station (CETV), and a member of the Ink Danqing Calligraphy and Painting Institute.
Over the years, calligraphy has been influenced by Wei Junxiu, Cao Boyong and other famous masters of the past, adhering to the classics of the teaching method, and immersing himself in the study of the history of Chinese calligraphy and the calligraphy theory of the predecessors. Starting from the "Jiucheng Palace" and "Temple Stele", it is covered with "Sacred Religious Order", "True Grass Thousand Character Text", "Seventeen Posts", "Book Notation" and other Legal Posts, and participates in the study of "Stone Drum Text", "Ceremonial Instrument Stele" and other seal inscriptions, and the works are mainly cursive, of which cursive calligraphy is based on "flowing and smooth" with "gentle and smooth", "inspection and convenience" and other pen meanings, forming a mellow and simple artistic style.
He has participated in a number of calligraphy activities and won awards, won the silver medal in the 3rd National Fine Calligraphy and Painting Competition in 2020, won the third prize in the 6th 30 Provincial and Municipal Middle-aged and Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Joint Competition in 2020, and won the first prize in the 7th 30 Provincial, Autonomous Regional and Municipal Middle-aged and Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Joint Competition in 2021.
