The delivered pure electric bus fleet consists of 271 9-meter pure electric buses with a capacity of 50 passengers and 135 12-meter pure electric buses with a capacity of 80 passengers, serving 14 bus routes. The fleet will help reduce local emissions by 6.5 tonnes of particulate matter and 17,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.

By the end of 2022, BYD is expected to deliver a total of 1,472 all-electric buses in Bogotá, which will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 94,000 tons per year, which is equivalent to the carbon dioxide emissions generated by 42,000 private cars driving at the same time.

Lara Zhang, BYD's Regional Director for Latin America, said: "BYD, as the world's leading manufacturer of pure electric buses, will continue to implement new energy solutions with customers to improve the quality of life of the Colombian people. The new electric bus fleet will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the polluted areas of Fontibón and the southwestern region of Bogotá. ”
