When the village is fully controlled, the villagers will be driven to the open area, killed by all kinds of cruel means, and then set fire to all the houses, which is the infamous scorched earth policy. We should strive to completely destroy the soil on which the anti-Japanese armed forces depend, and starve them to death and trap them to death. After doing all this, the Japanese army would immediately rush to the next village to commit violence until there was no one left in the sweeping area. By 1940, the Japanese army could no longer organize large-scale sweeps because of the long front and serious attrition, and the military and civilians in the base areas were able to live a relatively stable life.
