Celebrities are also plagued by hair loss, which is really cruel

At this year's Oscar gala, a big mouth of Will Smith slapped 7.8 million melon eaters in an instant.

We are not talking about Chris Locke, who uses the appearance of others as a joke, nor about Will Smith, who responds to ridicule in public with violent means, but about the other protagonist of this farce, Jada, a female star who suffers from hair loss.

The first time Jada publicly discussed hair loss was in 2018, and she confessed on a talk show that she had been wearing a headscarf, not in pursuit of fashion, but because of hair loss.

One day, while taking a bath, Jada suddenly found herself grabbing a large amount of hair that had fallen out of her hand, and then the hair loss was out of control. After a series of examinations, the doctor believed that Jada suffered from hair loss and belonged to an autoimmune disease. Jada tried wearing a headscarf and cutting her hair short, but still couldn't get rid of the problem of hair loss, so she chose to solve the hair loss problem once and for all and shave her hair confidently.

Affected by long-term mental stress, unhealthy lifestyle and other factors, modern everyone prides itself on dandelions, and life is not polished by your edges and corners, but by the hairline that is constantly moving up. Poverty alleviation and single removal are difficult to alleviate the psychological critical blow caused by "baldness" such as hair loss.

I have to admit that everyone is equal in front of hair loss, not only ordinary people, but also celebrities who are bright and beautiful in the spotlight also have the problem of hair loss, and wig pieces and the like are routine operations.

Because of the special nature of the work, the hair of celebrities needs to be frequently dyed and permed, and various styles are done, and the hairline that rises year by year is followed.

Even if the amount of hair is small, even the alopecia areata does not let go of the star, such as Shen Mengchen has generously posted a photo of himself on his Weibo.

Hair is ruthless, say bald is bald, not affected by beauty, status, financial resources, some hair loss can be cured, but some baldness is baldness, there is no room for recovery.

The cycle of the hair

The human scalp has 100,000 to 150,000 hair follicles, and once the hair follicles are formed, they are in a lifelong cycle, which is divided into growth period, regression period and rest period. Each hair follicle has a separate cycle, so humans don't need to mop their hair at a fixed time each year, as most animals do.

Which hair loss can be saved

Hair loss is generally caused by abnormal follicle cycles, inflammatory diseases that destroy hair follicles, and hereditary or acquired hair shaft abnormalities. It is mainly divided into three types: scar alopecia, non-scar alopecia, and abnormal hair structure. The good news is that with the exception of scar alopecia, most hair loss is reversible.

Hair follicles with non-scarring alopecia usually have no inflammation or only mild inflammation (eg, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis), have no permanent damage to the follicles, and are likely to re-grow hair spontaneously or after treatment. Including but not limited to telogen alopecia, alopecia areata, traction alopecia, stress postoperative alopecia, androgen-derived alopecia.

Telogen alopecia is the most common non-scarring alopecia, with a large number of hair follicles during the growth phase suddenly turning into the telogen phase, resulting in an abnormal increase in the number of hair losses.

Telogen alopecia may be caused by poor diet (diet, calorie or protein restriction), significant weight loss, psychological stress, major illness or surgery, drug side effects, chronic iron deficiency, childbirth and other factors, timely intervention, hair follicles will once again enter the growth phase.

Alopecia areata, also commonly known as "ghost shaving", is also very common non-scarring hair loss. Hair is patchy and flaky, and some can even progress from patchy hair loss to total baldness (complete hair loss) and general baldness (complete hair loss on the body).

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that is hereditary, and infection, emotional stress, and drug side effects can also induce alopecia areata. The disruption of normal hair cycles mediated by human immunity leads to inhibition of normal hair growth, and the global prevalence of alopecia areata is about 1‰.

Although it may seem scary, the inflammation of alopecia areata does not cause permanent damage to the hair follicles, the hair generally regenerates on its own, and it can also be used under the guidance of a doctor with drugs such as corticosteroids for intervention, and about 50% of patients with localized patchy hair loss will recover within 1 year.

Pull-out alopecia, as the name suggests, is to often pull the hair, a long time too tight ponytail, hair, hair follicles continue to be pulled or tensioned, the hairline may be higher and higher, the amount of hair is less and less. Pull-out alopecia is a temporary hair loss that is reversible, but long-term pulling of the hair may evolve into permanent hair loss.

Mom, hair is tied too tight~

Hair structure is abnormal, abnormalities generally appear in the hair stem position, the hair becomes no longer tough, fragile and easy to break, or no longer grow. Improper care is a common cause of acquired brittle hair, such as over-grooming, frequent shampooing with overheated water, frequent chemical treatment of hair, and so on.

There is also androgenic alopecia, which is more common in men, such as "Mediterranean" or "M" type alopecia. Male hormones act on sensitive hair follicles, resulting in miniaturization of hair follicles, shortening the growth period and thus reducing hair coverage.

This hair loss is also reversible, and through drug treatment combined with surgery (hair transplantation), it is possible to permanently improve hair loss.

What hair loss cannot be saved

After reading the hair that can be saved, let's talk about some helplessness.

Scarring alopecia, abnormal inflammation of the scalp of the fingers, loss of hair follicle stem cells in the bulbous part of the hair follicle leads to irreversible stagnation of the follicular cycle. Usually due to infection, genetic, or autoimmune defects.

Primary scarring alopecia is relatively rare in Asians and is mainly divided into three main categories: lymphocytic scar alopecia, neutrophilic scar alopecia, and mixed cicatricular alopecia. This type of hair loss is generally accompanied by very serious skin diseases, such as inflammatory papules, acne, erythema, and even pustules, erosions, and some will also appear itchy, tingling symptoms, leaving atrophic scars. (Given that everyone still has to eat dinner, there is no picture here)

Secondary scarring alopecia may be caused by other factors such as tinea capitis, tumor, radiation therapy, and surgical scarring.

This type of cicatricular alopecia usually results in irreversible damage to the hair follicle, permanent hair loss, and a very low likelihood of resuming growth with medication or surgery.

Hair is sometimes ruthless, saying that baldness is bald, leaving no room for retention;

Hair is sometimes very soft- and will be reborn if it is carefully taken care of in daily life and treated in time for problems.

Although hair loss is an indescribable pain for most modern people, fortunately, most hair loss is reversible, maintain a healthy lifestyle, relax in the mood, and a hair is not so unattainable.
